The amount of morons on social media calling for his head is ridiculous. f**king get over it!!! People these days are just looking for an excuse to show off how strong their moral compass is. f**k off, he's just a guy trying to get through life.

The criminalisation and stigma of drugs and the punishment of drug users is one of modern society's greatest mistakes

Regardless of your opinion on drugs, he has signed a contract saying he wouldn't take any. Any ban he gets is well deserved

Sorry for the noob question but what is the difference between Barba who is getting 12 weeks to Sailor who got 2 years?

I understand he was contracted by the ARU but I thought the NRL fell under the same laws?
obviously Barba was an in house drug test

So Barba gets to skip preseason and go on a holiday to thailand and gets an extra twelve week break, that sounds like a reward to me haha well done. Seriously though its not a big deal imo, half the league was probably doing lines on mad Monday.

With Holmes there it almost solves a headache for the sharks if they want to take this chance to get rid of barba.

I don't personally think recreational drugs should be tested for. If a player is videod in the cross doing a line then he should be fair game for all the shit headed his way.
But whilst it's in his contract and he knows the lay of the land he can't have any complaints about being sacked.

Same article says they are sending him to a rehab facility.

Seems a little contradictory

Also says the Sharks are yet to respond.

I’ve noticed with some New Ltd articles that they like to just add new information to the top of the current story, regardless if it makes sense or not.

It kind of makes sense from the Sharks perspective TBH. He’s only got 1 year left on his contract and he’s most likely going to be missing the first half of it.

Good to see the Sharks take swift action, but frankly it wasn't that hard a choice to make, he wasn't able to play for another 12 months anwway (according to that article).

I wonder why Nine through it was only 12 weeks??

Seriously Barba needs his head read, twice now he has pissed away a promising career.

Very poor judgement from an extremely talented player. Players are contracted all year round, so if you are willing to accept the ridiculous money, be willing to accept the conditions that come with.

Not a good way to end the year for the sharkies.

Please let this lead to the sharks being stripped of the title..

That would be epic..
