Deadset future superstar and I believe that he may well belong in the second row...Could develop into a bit of a Gorden Tallis with the big hits and damaging runs.

Check out how he man handled John Skandalis on the weekend!

No doubt about it. He's made a very quick transition from wing to second row... and becoming a star in the meantime. His defence is top class and he backs up all day.

He was never really a winger, only put there to plug holes and he had the abilkity to carry it off. Illawarra oput himj at Fullback in Flegg last yaer and he got player of the year. he played mostly in the backrow at his junior club since starting the game in 1999, but was also used in the centres, like many back rowers are these days.
He will finish up in the back row and he will be a supersat - he loves a big hit and is good at it. A terrific young fellow too, really sensible and not carried away with big time footy.

I'm glad the Hawks didn't want him. As a junior he had to chose between basketball and footbal. He chose the footbal coz the hawks didn't want him. I'm so glad.

we get 1 or 2 Dragons every year, and "1 classy outside back" still hasn't been crossed off our shopping list

Well if your mob have deep pockets and no regard for the salary cap, then anything is possible.

Creagh's a backrower now btw... are you thinking of letting us have Hindmarsh? ;-)

Haven't you heard? Parra apparently have very deep pockets for next year.
Hindy ain't going anywhere (hear that Raiders?) but I'm sure Creagh could be persuaded to play centre. You don't think Brown would play him at centre next year if Gasnier goes to England?

No I dont think he's quick enough. Brown has had a hard-on for a dominant, hard-hitting, tackle-busting back rower a-la Tallis for years. He may have his man in Creagh.
Besides, we have another future superstar playing centre in premier league: Wes Naiqama.

Creagh was capable in the backs but he really came of age when he moved into the second row. In this case, it is aint broke don't fix it.
Mind you, if Parrra got him, it wouldn't surprise if they put him out of position. ;-)

Glad to hear that they've got deep pockets e2w... but there's still the other part of the equation regarding the salary cap.

yeah, apparently lots of room to move under the cap. don't know the technicalities, but there was a report that we had $800k under the cap to move for next season. I'm not sure about the details regarding Riddell's contract, but the general consensus is that it's a $250k base (which counts under the cap) and upto an additional $80k in bonuses (which, correct me if I'm wrong, do not count under the cap for that year, but count for the following year)

not sure of the what you're referring to as trouble, but Stapo's turned out to be one of our best buys (from a long list)

I don't think letting Creagh walk away is a priority for the Dragons, in fact with no Kite, Riddell and Firman, there should be some room to move for the Dragons to sign up quality young talent like Creagh for longer periods!

Although I'm disappointed we are losing all three, it's probably going to turn out to be smart business, we will put priority towards keeping our young talent rather than buying other players, and I think Creagh will re-pay that policy by re-signing when the time comes.

Any chance of Paul Carrige making a Darren Smith-like comeback to a Parramatta injury crisis SOS??

Cheers,
Ben S.
