If I was a Dragons supporter, I'd be fine with the release under the proviso he honours the final year of his original contract.
Both parties need to move forward and put an end to this chapter. However I would remind Ben if he leaves now he's well and truly leaving the club in a lurch when he has an opportunity to end his time on a high note.
Compare the way both him and Tuivasa-Sheck handled themselves. It was Roger who suggested he'd make way for Reece Walsh and assist his development. It was a classy move and when Tuivasa-Sheck was granted his release early, no Warriors fan said boo.
Hunt has the same opportunity with Amone, Sullivan and Herring. You can go to dummy half, give them quality ball and just give the club some momentum heading into their next chapter.
It'd be a full circle moment as well considering Wallace did him that favour at the Broncos. It was especially generous of Peter considering the Broncos screwed Wallace out of a better deal at Penrith.
As a Broncos fan, I'm not going to lie. If Ben Hunt wants to play with for the club for the rest of the season I'd welcome him with open arms. However the Dragons are well within their rights to release him on their terms and I hope both parties can reach an agreement.
