Not his fault. Spear tackle and dropped ball from the kick off not his fault. If this was any other teams half you would be mercilessly / relentlessly slaying them.
It was a major choke on the grandest scale.
They are into him about the strip too.

Let's recap the passage of play Hunt will want to erase from his memory.
76:53 - With Brisbane ahead by four points with just over three minutes remaining in normal time, Andrew McCullough kicks for the sideline to get some breathing time before the Cowboys pack a scrum. When they do, on their own 10-metre line, Ben Hunt upends centre Kane Linnett, putting him on his neck. Luckily, Linnett is OK and there isn't a full-blown punch-on, but Hunt inexcusably not only gives away a penalty, but invaluable field position for what will end up being the second last set of six for North Queensland.
Hunt is put on report for the tackle and may result in his spending some time on the sidelines at the start of next season.
79:00 - Anthony Milford makes a break through the middle and gets the Broncos out of their own half and as far from their line as possible. It's only the fourth tackle, so even one more play of the ball in the grand scheme of things could have made a difference. Hunt gets his hands on the ball 44 metres out from Brisbane's line, but a loose carry results in a one-on-one strip from Kyle Feldt. The ball comes loose and the Cowboys have their hands on the ball with a minute on the clock. One feels if Hunt could have just held the ball or even been able to spread it wide to wind down the clock, it might have made the difference in end. Who knows?
80:04 - Four seconds into extra time, with the ball spiralling in the air, Hunt sets himself underneath it. Wally Lewis seconds earlier said the players will be under pressure, and when Hunt fumbles the ball metres from his goal line, it shocks everyone at the ground and everyone watching on their televisions.
"Hunt has knocked on!" Ray Warren exclaims.
"Oh Ben Hunt, Ben Hunt is sinking with disappointment." That he was.
It is known within rugby league circles that Hunt is a little susceptible under the high ball, so the fact the ball ended up gravitating towards the Brisbane number seven was not by chance.
Hunt was so upset he looked to be crying on the field even before the result was all but sealed. No one could possibly understand the pain and guilt he must be feeling after dropping an innocuous kick which he would catch 99 times out of 100.
The 25-year-old was inconsolable at full-time.
