We can't afford to miss out on Hunt, he is the only halfback on the market that fits the criteria and is actually legitimately within reach. We won't get anywhere near players like Thurston, Johnson, Moses or Pearce.

All anyone remembers about Hunt is the dropped ball in the grand final. They don't remember how he basically carried the Broncos through 2014 and into 2015. The fact that he had a crap year last year and still came in the top three for try assists, line break assists, kick metres, line breaks and tackles shows that he is a player of rare talent that we would be idiotic to pass up.

We need to offer him extras because right now we're a low-end-of-town team with a crap culture living off the remnants of days gone by. We've won one premiership in nearly 40 years. We need to get over the history of this club. History doesn't win premierships. History should be learned from, absolutely. Studied intently. Revered, even. A club's history, however, should never have to be used as a bargaining chip to recruit players (which Millward has frequently admitted to) and should never foster a 'jobs for the boys' mentality.

Long story short; Ben Hunt is a gun. Money talks, bullsh*t walks and we need to get over ourselves because Changa isn't coming to save us.

Perhaps last year was not his best season in total but if my memory serves me correct, for the first 10 to 12 weeks he and Milford were on fire and easily the best halves combo by a stretch, then the donkeys just lost their way.

Just a guess ?
I
What is the source, just hope its true, if so would be great to get him for this season

ts simple maths and logic we are offering him $300k more than his current club and making him the chief playmaker - it makes sense to any one managing him and also the player himself. We are taking about $1.2m extra income over next 4 years ..

I would be very happy for us to sign Ben Hunt. He would be the best halfback we have had since Billy Smith.

Mitch Moses would be my other target for halfback.

I dont know if anyone else has seen the media report by sporting news posted on facebook
Ben hunt said he was approached by the panthers and he rejected their offer despite phil goulds claims
Hunt said that it is between the broncos and saints only
And it also says in the articles former captain gareth widdop
Has anyone got any info on widdop not being captain

Fair post and very well put....but without a decent coach it all means jack if we land Hunt regardless.

Yeah, not really a strategy that has worked for us. Remember the houses we bought on Williams St, Drinkwater Dr, Witt Ln, Marshall Rd and now the house we have on McCrone Cr? None of those increased in value...

Sometimes you gotta throw decent money at the best available property in order to increase your portfolio...

Are any of those addresses in Blakehurst?
