he will have no choice, clubs will wait, no one will pay him $900k, they will wait till January/February before a contract is signed, you have to remember he isnt due back to training till January sometime due to him playing for Australia, he will get his 8 weeks or so weeks off..
"him (kind of ) playing for Australia"

I didn't watch much of the Pacifica games (I was simply not interested). Did he even take the field in any of those games? Genuine question.

I would like to see the Dolphins trump the broncs , they could use his experience as long as Mr.Hunt decides to earn his money for a change .
May I please correct you?

I believe he doesn't deserve the title of Mr. Mr is generally referred to as a male gentleman.

Most observative fans and members of this club and forum would see him as bitch (female dog) of its recent actions over the last 18 months.

Therefore, I won't personally accept the bitch as a Mr and will always refer to it in the future as Bunt.

Formerly known as C.hunt whilst in our famous jumper

No he didnt, was 18th man i think, but it still counts as he is involved, training, media etc, his annual leave stars the day after all obligations are finished with the Australian team

Well now that you have put it that way I shall certainly change my form of address when referring to the little whiner .

Bulldogs withdraw from pursuit of Hunt, leaving Broncos in box seat

I reckon they were never seriously in the Hunt for Hunt. I mean why? and where?
Or maybe for the 6th utility at the club at half his wage at the Dragons
Anyway I always thought it would be QLD but now we get the media insight into fitting players under the cap.
Yep you guessed it "jobs after football retirement" which apparently goes off? the cap at the market rate of the job (extract from FOX but interpret the wishy washy clause as you wish)

"Under NRL salary cap rules, in the final year of their career, a player can be paid off the salary cap as part of their transition into retirement. It is understood the role has to be documented and the payment has to be at market rates."

That is how Roosters do so well as they look after their players post playing through their well connected corporate BOD. (e.g. access to finance, business, media and god knows what else)

The point is we all whinge about the cap and how some teams fit their players in etc
The media and NRL kept banging on about it evens the comp
Sort of True..but there are so many parts and interpretations that we dont understand and for me..
loop holes to stretch it to the limits

Dragons need to do better in this department for all including youth as they transfer from out of town / school etc
I feel we have not had the right smarts of staff or business acumen to use it to our advantage as well as many other teams

Being part of the aussie squad (despite not playing) has probably pumped Hunts value up in the eyes of the NRL also.

Rooster's are interested
With Smith injury and on the nose
And Walker injury as well
I'm sure rooster's are working on a few plans

Roosters and dogs are smart. They'll wait it out until the little whiners contract is worth a lot less. Who knows they might wait to Feb or March to bring him in. That reduces his Cap expense by 300k. Doesn't mean Gus or Politis won't find another way to get the little whiners his 900k

To be honest I don’t care where Hunt goes, he has left our great club so good luck to him. BUT this will be a big test for the NRL, report are now that the Bullflogs have dropped out that he will now sign with the Broncos for around $550k per year. That is unders for a current QLD & Australian player, if that contract is approved by the NRL it is a rort Under the salary cap rules but we all know there are rules for some & different rules for others.

Looking increasingly like he’s shot himself in the foot. He might have no option but to retire.
Yes, the reports say he made the decision to leave -out of anger and resentment at being given a few home truths.

And as we know, decisions made in haste and anger are quite often poor ones.

$950k a year and he can’t cop a once-in-a year pasting.

I’m not a coach, but I’d think if flanno has some objections to his game, I’d tend to listen and try to learn.

Even where I disagree, I’d appreciate that this is Flanno’s perception of my game and I’d be curious to hear why, because he’s the coach.

And players usually only get a slice of the whole.

You could imagine how many times poor Sloaney has been stripped of his dignity in the quiet of the locker room after a match and his only formal response has been to say that he will try to improve and how much he’s into SGI and what a good club you’ve got.

And my all time favourite, Gutho saying he’s signed on because he “wants to win a premiership.”

That’s like a big furry sock down bunts throat!

I sorta don't care but know that 550 will crush his ego

Except Flanno has said several times that he didn’t give him a pasting. I think it’s very obvious that Ben believes he’s above any form of criticism.

I was going off media reports lol, probably written by Ben’s manager.

I suppose Flanno could have borrowed Mary’s old captains choice paddles and semaphored his displeasure about some aspects of his game.

Not that it helped Mary. He had a 50/50 chance and still managed to defy the odds and get most of the calls wrong.

Which reminds me I haven’t seen Mary in the press lately casting his sage advice on the issue.

One thing know is that at least Ben looks like he will be on rookie again money.

Ex rooster at work says his temperament is a sovereign risk now as he’s sucked you dry and only a few years left to whinge.
