The straw that broke the camels back.

It’s said that Flanno calmed him down post Hook, but behind that, Flanno simply wouldn’t release him.

I think Flanno realised that Hunt was a means to have a fair first season for Flanno and for the good of the club.

So he kept him and at least for awhile the Flanno/ Hunt matrix kept the ship afloat, albeit rolling from side to side.

The review happens ( flanno is not a rookies again man) and Hunt is deemed to be underachieving, especially for his price.

And hes slammed from pillar to post, takes gross offence and then sulks off to his mates niggling at Flanno and Kyle (weak).

Then he’s “ well there will be no pre-season for me” and it’s milkshake time.

“ No one is bigger than the club” is a clear signal to Hunt that Flanno thinks he’s a dickhead.

Flanno has a lot of respect in the game and it’s rare that he shirtfronts people individually publicly . He will go hard on the team as a whole, but he usually praises individuals if they deserve it, not scalps individuals.

Let's end the Hunt post for good he has officially now left the club its a happy dragons day for all .
The interest will wear off over time, but I think the wake will party on for a bit longer until the ducks are in a row with replacements

I think it’s wholly unlikely and illogical that Flanno would have pulled the Hunt trigger without making some arrangements with player/s somewhere beforehand.

It seems to me it could be Gutho who Flanno met with yesterday before he sacked Hunt.

Gutho wants 3 years, but I hope Gutho was sensible about the cash. He should sacrifice a bit to be part of the club that he will fit into like a glove, where he will be respected and is on the up.

Gutho is a showman, loves a bit of reverence and sparkle and he’d be great for SGI.

All the Saints side of the past ( I’m not ignoring Illawarra) there was always a bit of a confident hop or little skip running out onto the park.

Gutho was made for that.

On that Rooster May business, I reckon there’s a scandal in there somewhere. I hope he’s not a convicted pervert or allegedly bashes small women like his siblings. Hopefully he’s the black sheep of the family.

Widdop as well. At least he had the decency to give us one year notice.

McInnes was at least off contract and we got rid of the coach that gave him a chance. Definitely missed opportunity to have Robson at 9 and McInnes at 13 though.

Unlike hunt that pushed for a contract extension and has spent time trying to get out of it ever since we got rid of Griffin
To be fair to Widdop, I think his shoulder was never going to stand up to NRL again. Short of a big op and long recovery. Better to play ESL.
I was bemused by “going home to see Granny” excuse though. o_O

I still regard Widdop as a worthy Dragon.

I am pleased we have lanced the Hunt boil that has been inflicting us for some time. I so wanted him to be a great signing when he joined, someone we could rebuild around and who could lead us to some success. He was welcomed, he was put on a pedestal, he got whatever her wanted. But he never cut the mustard, he never did once rise to the occasion, he moped, he flung up his arms at teammates, he missed tackles and his kicking was average at best, we never won matches because of his kicking game. I hope he achieves what he is after elsewhere, it was never going to happen at the Dragons, he refused to play 9.

As for us I just know as long as he stays healthy that Gutherson will be the signing of the year in 2025, it just feels like a good fit all round.

Market Watch: Broncos enter the race as Hunt battle heats up

A River City rumble is brewing between the Broncos and Dolphins, as Brisbane enter the race for Queensland Origin star Ben Hunt. SUBSCRIBE for the full story.

We all thought Brisbane because they are a powerful organisation.

I think it would help Madge at the start, then the Hunt entitlement character will kick in hard and stuff things up.

He can’t keep it under control.

Players like Hunt, mentally they love the stimulation of uncertainty, being in a footy Cold War. They try to make us sweat it out.

Then afterwards the satisfying sulk and joy of playing the victim of being a multi millionaire and earning $1m a season.

Pour your misery down on us Bunt.

Everyone’s in tears about your axing, inconsolable, shattered and ready to self immolate.
