Rogers has excelled in a system almost designed for him. I guarantee he knew he was going to be a star at this club when Smith approached him.... to bad I didnt know that.

He is a brilliant player when he can pick his moments, and in our current side that is what we have. I wouldnt like to rely on him for all of our attack, but with Mullo, Gids, De Gois, Dureau and Ndaira at the club I dont think it will be an issue.

He's always had talent, the problem had been consistency. He's been better than I thought he'd be, I'll give him that. But I'm willing to bet money you guys will want him lynched finals time...

I am wrapped with the bloke. He came here under one of the all time biggest clouds. People were dissing him left and right. To be honest, id never really seen a poor performance from him other than the night he played half back against manly, when all things are considered, rushing a bloke from premiere league into the side to play half back at the last minute was at fault there.

Rogers is a lot more nibble on his feat than i gave him credit for. just take the GC game in Newcastle, stepping around preston campbell is no mean feat, pardon the pun. When you pair that with his ball playing I think we have a pretty decent player that is opening sides up on the fringe a lot. His defence has seemed pretty good to. About the only thing i can fault him on is his kicking, which at times is lacklustre, but he really shouldnt be worrying about kicking. He is an extremely dangerous player, he always seems to find space and time, two things you cant buy in RL, and he seems to use that time very well, either by making a half break and putting someone away or putting someone through a hole.

LOL

You'll never let that argument you had with DMC go will you BIHK :p

Let me guess. DMC shot his mouth off by making stupid, inaccurate statements about said player and then slunk off into the void when he was proven wrong.

Close?

Not quite...but you're on the right track

The two of them thrashed out (over many months, years and threads) as to who was the better 5/8, Rudder or Gidley. Take a guess whose camp DMC was in after reading BIHK's post above again ;-)

These famous arguments were worse than our Dureau vs Rogers or just Dureau or Karma vs the world threads we have these days!

I found it quite funny in the end as neither was really a 5/8 and the argument was pointless and irrelevant!

Rogers is like Jarod Sammut in that in the lower grades every time he touched the ball something could and often would happen.

It just takes time for that sort of talent to manifest in first grade.
