Benji Marshall is coming back to the NRL.

I read that his rugby coach sat him down and told him he will not get another run for the blues and they will release him if they want. Hardly seems like benji initiated this if that is true.

His attitude probably caused them to make the offer. We saw last year his reaction to being benched in the NRL. To turf the bloke after less than a handful of games smacks of an attitude problem rather than anything else. And Benji has that in spades. It would have irked the hell out of him to be picked on the bench, let alone not at all.

He and his manager deserve to be right where they are, I have no sympathy for either of them and I'm happy he'll pay a substantial price for his petulance.

If Benji finds the right team he could really turn it on. Can't wait to see him back, hope he proves all you cats wrong.

Melbourne Storm could be a good fit. They need a 5/8 and with George Rose leaving there is some money. He would offer something different to Cronk in the halves. He wouldn't have the same media opportunities as Sydney but appearing on the Footy Show every 2nd week is a small sacrifice. Bellamy can rebuild him.

I will and league.
I played both and enjoyed them for different reasons, but my main point was Benji?s skill level had to be improved before he could go further in Union. Time is not on his side.

In order for a league player to achieve the skill set of a union player they would need to go on a maccas only diet for 12 months and reduce their training by about 75%.

Happy for him to come back. The absolute definition of rocks or diamonds but was always fun to watch from a neutrals perspective.

Melbourne would be best for him as a player, but he would be 4-5 down the pecking order and his ego won't handle that.

I said I wouldn't mind him at the Broncs on the cheap, but if Marshall goes to the Sharks, it'll be pretty lol worthy. With Ryan, Gibbs and Heighington already there, put Sheens into the head coach role and you may as well call them the Tigers.

some guy at the waraths said they blues stuffed up, they shoudve played him at wing or fullback for a while to learn the game, like they did with other converts and then shifted him closer

had he gone to the waratards they wouldve given him more chances, it seems the kiwis didnt give him much chance at all

wendall got loads of time to adapt, he was average at first and within a year was a wallaby star against the all blacks

If Benji is concerned about being a better footballer and can put his ego aside (dollars will come later), Melbourne is the perfect fit for him. I truly hope he goes there...he'll learn league for the first time in his life.

Anything else, go to Cronulla...lol.

This reminds me of when we signed Mason and everyone started loling and saying it was a failure of a signing etc etc, despite the fact he was on next to no money.

If the Sharks pick him up for a relatively small fee, I don't really see the problem. Value for money is what it's about in this game. Personally if I'm the Sharks, as long as they're not paying him the earth (and it won't be anything close to that) I'm considering this a fairly risk-free investment.

You do understand you're not getting that money at once? And the NRL has been helping you out financially. You don't just have 300k laying around.

Exactly but have already been advanced $10 mill to make us one of only a few debt free clubs. While not a massive Benji fan there is potential for both increased crowds and ultimately sponsorship as a result of his presence.
