If dragons are dumb enough to pay $1.5 mil over three years, they can have him. They need big mean forwards and won't get them wasting that much on Benji.

We need outside backs more than we need Benji IMO

lol@Dragons.
They sign Widdop at 5/8th then chase a worse one.
Please don't tell me Benji is going to slot into the 7 jersey, something that was a massive failed experiment at the Tigers.

The two kids that played against us(on the left I think) on the weekend look pretty good, Feki and I forget the others name, I havent seen a lot of them though.

I called it yesterday before it was widely known. He'll be a Dragon on a long term deal. They've swooped in late and stolen him from the Sharks and Storm with an unbeatable offer.

Benji failed in the 7 jersey because he was expected to guide the team round the park

Widdop does that quite nicely and Benji wouldn't be expected to play that role. Benji would chime in when required and get his running game going which is what he is best at.

Benji played brilliantly when he played alongside Brooks in the one game they played together 2013 and thats because Brooks did all the thinking and Benji chipped in from time to time. He was all the more effective because of that

Marshall alongside Widdop is a good fit regardless of the number on the players back

All the goodwill he had with Tigers fans leapt out the window when he publicly showed his true colours the day he was benched for us. It told everyone just where the Tigers real problems were and who the real culprit was.

Good luck whoever gets him, you'll need it. He's a self-centred, egotistical, petulant child.

If it's Saints, it would be wise to introduce him to the Cutters coach early on, so it's not such a shock when he gets dropped and the inevitable dummy-spit won't be as harsh as it has been at his last two jobs.

I'll always be thankful for his efforts prior to 2012 but that won't stop me hoping he gets belted from pillar to post by our blokes when he plays against us.

I laughed at him the last few years he was with you guys. I laughed at him being a child with the unveiling of his jersey. I laughed when he go next to no time in the s15 and I was laughing when sharks were about to sign him. However, I'm pretty excited that we are going to sign him. We never sign anyone big and even though he's probably past it there's still the "what if"? What if he does come and wants to secure his legacy? What if he isn't expected to do all the creating and can chime in when he wants behind widdop and dugan? What if we start being the media darlings? What if he brings decent crowds through the gate? I have no idea how he will work out, a week ago I thought he would be a failure for sure but I'm still excited...

Well, you are entitled to be excited, there aren't that many players over the decades I've been watching that have regularly taken another team apart and he's one of them.

I'm just very glad he isn't coming back to the Tigers to be honest. There is baggage that comes with him that we just simply don't need.

Benji played centre in that game, he would always play well given more space.
As for Benji getting his running game going at 7, good luck with that.
