Can't believe that teams are actually fighting it out over this myth. I mean, you'd take him if no one else wanted him but there's no way you'd throw an actual serious deal his way.

Does no one remember his last few years in the NRL?

Quality halves are hard to find. Benji is a genuine game breaker and has the potential to make a huge difference to a lot of teams. He did suck his last 2 years but he was poorly used and was in a system where he had become complacent imo. A new team could work wonders for him.

I'm not saying i would pay him big bucks but i can see why clubs want him.

Come on BM, what's your source saying now.

Pendulum swinging?

he's waiting for more on twitter. Once he stated the Storm deal was rock solid done, the Storm - they were out of the race. Same for Dragons, BM declared them & the Sharks will have him reunited with his old Tigers mates & onto the Footy Show ( cringe )

The whole thing appears to have been played out with Sharks always really the front runners. Just a guess, but I think the dragons might have been suckered on this one.

Anyway, no one really knows, just a circus really

Doesn't change one known fact though...BM is a total fwit

But wait, Facebook has Benji at Dragons leagues club tonight. Must be true, right? It's Facebook after all

My mail is that Benji will sign with a nuffy club, play like crap for two years and retire into obscurity.

Yep, might be more to this with the Moltzen fiasco leaving some scars for both parties & Benji's manager heaving the last laugh

I think Benji's at Saints Leagues for this to see if he can regain his footwork

Anyway, here's what's in the SundayTelegraph :

D-day for Benji Marshall and two NRL clubs as he determines his playing future
DAVID RICCIO CHIEF SPORTS WRITER THE DAILY TELEGRAPH MAY 04, 2014 12:00AM

THE target of Cronulla and St George Illawarra, Benji Marshall is expected to determine his future within the next 48 hours, ironically as the Sharks current five-eighth Todd Carney, prepares to get his own immediate playing future sorted.

Yet to receive a formal offer from the Dragons, Marshall will wait until tomorrow before deciding whether to wait for an official offer or instead, accept the two and-a-half year deal to join the Sharks.

As late as Saturday afternoon, no formal offer from the Dragons had been forthcoming to Marshall’s agent Martin Tauber or leading player manager Wayne Beavis, who is assisting with the negotiations.

Interesting. The Sharks were originally offering only a deal for the rest of the season. Now they've gone to the end of 2016 on much bigger money. I think the Dragons have done what they intended to do.

It's the Sharks. I feel they've made a big mistake.

A Carney-Benji halves duo is 2 players with the same strengths and weaknesses. They've got 2 of the worst defenders in the NRL in the same time.

This will not end well for the Cronulla Sharks.
