Did you put some money on Penrith?
My memory was Pou was nowhere to be seen on GF week

We won a prelim final and poor old Pou had nothing to contradict from the discussion so stayed silent all week.

You only have to look at his posts this week he has been dead quiet.

The whingers cop a bad wrap on here but honestly Pou when we win there is no Pou

We lose and Pou surfaces and dominates discussion

I loved the Cowboys win but had a very bad feeling about the grand final, especially after seeing Gould on Twitter talking about how the Townsville conditions were going to f**k the winner in the grand final. Plus when we win you merkins talk less shit.

From the SMH:
(At the Perth Bears announcement press conference today)

V’landys was also asked if the NRL had consulted with the AFL about the move into Perth, a question that received a straightforward response.

“No. I don’t see McDonalds checking with Kentucky Fried Chicken when they’re opening a new store,” he said.

“We certainly have not consulted with the AFL. They don’t consult with us.”

LOL.

that was a f**king dumb question, you gotta remember the WA media is owned by Stokes who sponsors the AFL

there has been live coverage all afternoon in here

pretty sure they have an agenda against the Perth Bears already and were instructed to ask dumb and/or demeaning questions

Haha how much are these jurnos getting paid?

When the Giants came into the AFL comp, did they ring the NRL and say "Can we please put a team in Western Sydney? We'll be nice" Haha seriously the most ridiculous question of all time and what a great response for PVL.

The WA Bears announcement has been copping heat from the West Australian owned by Seven West Media. Seven (Kerry Stokes) of course owns AFL tv rights, so has a vested interest in the NRL franchise failing.

A recent episode of Media Watch highlighted how Stokes has been hammering the NRL and the WA Government in investing in the new team.

So what did PVL do ? He employed the former Editor of the West Australian as the team's CEO. Boom-tish.

The Australian Rugby League Commission has announced the appointment of Anthony De Ceglie as the CEO of the Perth Bears.

The highly experienced and credentialled De Ceglie, who until recently was Director of News and Current Affairs at Seven West Media, brings a wealth of executive leadership experience and a history of business innovation. Mr De Ceglie was previously the Editor-In-Chief of the West Australian newspaper.

lol

Fans of the relocating North Sydney rugby league club, the North Sydney Bears, welcomed finding their way back to the NRL after 26 years.
However, it has caused some problems for the local bear social group for cis and trans men who like men, Bears Perth.
“They say there’s no such thing as bad PR,” laughed Bears Perth President Kingsley Dawes.
In queer culture, a bear is someone celebrates their hairy, sometimes fatter self.

I was pleased with how we came back in that game (forward pass or not)...but anyone thinking we were going to beat Penrith in the GF is flogging their micro penis. I was hoping, but no shame in falling short to one of the greatest teams in history.

I don't think the NRL anticipated Mal would be interested in this gig.

The fact he is you would almost have him favourite now.

I think 2 years to cop the early hits with the win/loss column but building a presence in the community and the media it would be perfect.

As long as they nail the coach post Mal.

I think that's the key along with the staff.

But i think Mal will lure better quality around him to actually coach then a Steve Murphy or a Peter Gentle.

If Mal wants the job he needs to get some really smart assistant coaches around him.

He won't have the QLD superstars making him look good.
