Benji Marshall not guilty of assault occasioning actual bodily harm

Good on Benji, the amount of crap players get out by drunk idiots is outstanding.

I am still amazed that with no video evidence that Benji hit the guy, conflicting witness accounts and very minor if any damage to the alledge victim that the DPP even went ahead with the case and wasted the courts time. The matter should have been thrown out well before it ever got to court.

Don't forget that someone else punched the guy which is why they couldn't show Benji did any damage to him. It's a joke that the DPP proceed with these charges, Brett Stewart should never have gone to trial either. But they must feel if it's a high profile footballer they have to go to trial so it doesn't appear they're above the law or something.
