100% right, Matchball. I hope that Benji reads them too !. Along with the whole team, the entire coaching staff, and most importantly, the board.
Like most of us here, it has been hard for me to watch the demise of our team over the past few years. The excuses have been plentiful, and you soon get embarrassed when you hear yourself trotting them out week after week.
Now I've never gone down the road of emailing the board ( in case they found out that I'm a nutter ), but it's getting close.
No point complaining to Potter or Roycie. I want someone with power to understand exactly how we all feel.
FMD, the newspaper hacks obviously read these forums and plagiarise our sentiments and call them a scoop. Gordie is quoted in todays Tele giving Blair a spray for promising his best, yet being outplayed by guys on half his $$$. All the media talk around the Tigers is a re-hash of what we have been saying here for months.
Do the board members have the best interests of the club, or their own agenda, at heart ?.
There must be a way of presenting a united front to the board. At the end of the day, I think the people that frequent this forum would have to be classed as genuine supporters. Mostly long-term, but all honest and reasonably informed fans.
We need to let them know our concerns for the contract extensions, player roster, lack of activity in the player's market, the underlying power that Benji seems to hold, etc, etc, etc.
Bloody st George have accepted their position and done something about it. They've had the coglioni to cut players and actually recruit players who will make a difference.
Our recruitment officer needs to be retrospectively sacked 7 years ago.
If I email them alone, they will probably laugh it off.
If 10 of us email, they might raise an eyebrow.
We need 100 or more to make an impact.
Even if we can get them to read this, and the other forum with an open mind . . .and listen to their real fans. . . maybe they will see the light.
