Now Benji at the Dragons with a coach who has had no success and under pressure, previously Benji worked with Sheens who had been around the block.

We seen what happened last year when Tigers had rookie Potter and he had to deal with Benji.

For Widdop this will be interesting he brings structure to the team even with Storm is was built on structure, thats not a role that suits Benji

I disagree. At this point, Benji needs someone beside him to provide the structure, so he can do his thing. Much like Carney needs Robson beside him.

I still ask....where were we intending to play Robson, Carney & Benji to get $500k value out of Benji (& similar out of Carney for that matter )?

I will go against the grain here and say I am absolutely shattered not to get Benji.

The more attacking weapons you get in your team, the better. I haven't listned to a single person who has said he isn't the same Benji from 7 years ago, it obviousy why, but the fact is teams still have to worry about that Benji being on show.

I maintain he would of been a shining light for us in a team struggling to get points.

I also look at the backline he is working with at the Dragons and believe we will see a very committed Benji Marshall back in the NRL.

Sadly, it isn't with us. I guess 200k will get you some new friends in no time. (Bitter)

The price the Sharks pay for not being aggressive in negotiations, I am hearing Ennis will now be able to be retained as we stuffed around getting his signature.

As I said earlier in this thread,he wasn't coming to cronulla,Fifita hates him,said he split the team at the Weststigers,hence the 2 dressing sheds comment,Heighno,Beau and Gibbs were mates,but you can't have your highest paid player hating your new recruit.

The Benji saga is about the only issue where I am undecided regarding the Sharks. In hindsight ,I think I would have liked to see him at the Sharks. But no idea where? An accident waiting to happen probably. Prefer K Hunt but he won't come. Can't get Benji who wanted to be in Sydney and had many mates here and we had the money. Hunt lives on the GC so Titans or Broncs surely. Wash up is we might get Sam Williams or equivalent nuffie.

I'll just throw this very selfish card on the table.

The last few years (or a lot more) I have for nearly every time the Sharks are camped in the oppositions quarter, yelled, shouted, kicked dogs, screamed at the screen .... "for pharksss sake do pharken something".

I have also watched a lot of other teams show well drilled precision attacking moves that result in frequent four pointers.

I just dreamed that one day we would have a player capable of directing the team around the opps quarter and then delivering a killer blow. Wham bammmm where is the kicking tee, we have a try conversion to take.

I guess I was sort of dreamin' that maybe Benji might be that type of a player.

Arhhhhhhhhh it doesn't matter really this year. We've got a few rungs of a ladder to climb.
