Hiku isnt a winger. One of those tries he stood and watched Kahu catch it and looked scared as he did so.
The trouble is we released MWZ and until Mansour is back our only decent wing option is Edwards who should be fullback.
Otherwise its dfield and Hiku is much better than him. Or Whare who is shocki g at contesting kicks also.

For me Latu and Tamou have been bog average this year. Latu seems afraid of the ball, and his lateral movement is far too slow. And Tamou just isn't bending the line at all, and seems to be playing in slow motion. He has been OK defensively however.
Hiku drops off in the backline. Too slow, and doesn't look interested. His effort on the Kahu try was disgraceful.

Our problems do not start with Hiku on the wing. At all. But because he is the chosen scapegoat, everything becomes his fault.
I think it is Whare who should be under the most pressure in that backline.See, this isn't true at all. He was shit for that kick, yes, but he was fine elsewhere. I've never seen Oldfield play, but if mx prefers Hiku over him, then that says a hell of a lot.
no chance it happens with his current form at 1 though.
