Im sure this thread has been done already, but i cant find it so meh ... you'll just have to put up with my pick :)

Some great examples Jimi Hendrix doing Bob Dylan's All Along the Watchtower.
Faith No More's version of Black Sabbath's War Pigs are two i find great.

But this is my all time Number 1 ... the Doors' XXX-rated version of Van Morrison's Gloria ... I've never found a cover better than THIS

There is a ""banned version" on Pootube as well, but its from Alive She Cried, and NOT Live in New york ... even though its the same concert. But Live in New York is extremely rare, only owners of the Box Set have the FULL XXX-rated version ... with the FULL Sex-orientated lyrics. So those less observant will have to do with this ... the Alive She Cried version ... with all the Sex-bits ommitted (and unbelievably, was STILL banned by MTV ...f**k knows why) The original Live in New York version has been banned since 1970, when it was performed ... oh and Jim was arrested too :) The footage in the pootube song i listed here may show what it was really like to sing explicit lyrics back in 1970 as well ... tis good sh*te. hahah check out all the fat cops ...give the clowns a donut

p.s. unless you are observant, you need to find the Live in New York version on Limewire or whatever to know wtf im talking about :)

Baker Street - Foo Fighters
Love Buzz - Nirvana
All Along the Watchtowe - Hendrix

The covers on Nirvanas MTV Unplugged performance are all good as well, especially Where Did You Sleep Last Night and Lake of Fire.

Probably for the first time EVER Ron, i cant argue with that pick :) Ben E King's was good, but no match for the TRUE KING ... John Lennon.

Awesome pick mate. Ive never known ANY band to get guitars to sound like a saxophone, but the Foo's do it superbly. Love it :)

I've tried to play the sax bit on my guitar but it just sounded a mess.

Love the original version, in the cover do they play the solo?

Heard John Mayer cover Radioheads "Kid A" yesterday.

His original's are sh*t, but the cover wasn't too shabby.
