The Eels have one of the best packs, they probably have the best bench in the league IMO; would I be right in saying they are the only fully representative prop rotation in the competition? You've got Nathan Cayless and Fui Fui Moi Moi who are New Zealand Internationals, then you have got Tim Mannah and Justin Poore on the bench who are both NSW representatives. All four of them average over 100 metres per game, and the backrow, even though Shackleton isn't there, is still great too.

However, the best forward pack is easily Souths. They have been neutered the majority of the year by Sutton/Sandow's inconsistency and the massive injury toll they have. Honestly, if Issac Luke hadn't of been injured early in the season, they would be eyeing down a top four spot at the moment-that's what has killed them this year, injuries.

yes, because this is the first time in history a side has had injuries :roll:

this thread is about talk being cheap

the souths pack still haven't done anything remotely resembling the best pack in the comp

In the era of the salary cap every club's depth is limited... If Souths had their best pack available for the majority of the season then you may have a point. But really this thread is stupid because Souths have been relying on fringe first graders like Garrett Crossman or younguns like Dave Tyrell because they've had so many injuries. I'd still love to see them play with a full strength pack like Stuart, Luke, Asotasi, Burgess, Pettybourne, Taylor, Crocker, Lowe, Geddes etc... that would be awesome but we're not going to see anything like that pack line up until next year.

Wow.
So you expect a team that has the best forward pack in the competition, that then has to play an entire reserve grade-level forward pack in the NRL to win the comp? Are you f**king serious?
Honestly.
If the Storm of 2007 had all their players injured after they won the minor-premiership, and they were forced to play with all reserve graders, would you expect them to go on and win the premiership?
The TC is quite clearly deluded....or just anti-Souths. Both more than likely.

The Raiders have the best pack in the NRL. It isn't even in doubt. The performances prove it.

raiders and souths are right up there as the best packs.

souths have really been hit by injuries (and kinda crap halves), and the raiders halves are too sh*t to take advantage of the good work of their forwards.

Yeah, pretty sure Taylor called up the Teleraph to tell them souths have the best pack going around.

I would be pretty pissed if any forwards from my team didnt think they had the best pack

I rate the Raiders pack

Shillington, Tongue, Logan, Leyroyd Lahs, Harrison, Femson, Miller.

Some of those players are underrated, they do so much workload.

Next year they'll have Brett White which will improve their pack.

no pack even comes close to the Vikings. Btw you forgot Tilse, who is my favourite viking prop.

ill take our pack against any pack in the comp, any day of the week

Big, strong, fast and mobile, with flair and work rate.
Waddell isnt a top flight #9... yet. But he's the only weak link.
If you want to go on forward power alone and excuse the hooker, we're the best.
