I'll keep searching because the way he is discussed in this thread he MUST be good.... The stuff he does with G'n'R is most likely not a good showcase for him.

I'd advise against using this thread as a barometer of ability. Gods like Dimebag and Clapton have barely gotten mentions, which should be punishable by death.

petrucci is one of the top guitarists in the world not only in technical playing skills, but also in composing skills. some of the stuff he's done is mind blowing.

Ron thinks that playing appegios a zillion times an hour makes for good listening.

Again he has shown his true lack of knowledge when it comes to guitarists.
Prince is a genius...not my cup of tea ...but has more talent in his turds than most of the crap Ron Listens to.
That is why so many people want him to write songs for them.
