LMAO.....The Wiggles are one of the smartest bands around, though I dry reach when they are on the Tele. I remember many years ago watching them play ROCK when they were the Aussie pubband "The Cocroaches". They would have lasted a year tops, however had a better more financially secure plan. Got give em credit, then turn the channel when they are on the idiot box.

Get Fugged leotard boy.

I, as you know have been playing for near on 20 years and Moginie is one of the best I've seen.

Solo wanking and hair spray is only a small part of it.( a very fugged part )

The songs Moginie wrote and co/wrote with the oils ( all the classics I might add ) are very complex .
His combo's with Martin Rotsey was unique and intense.
The whole stereo alternating guitar thing has been picked up more recently by the Artic Monkeys ...whom sound suspicioulsy like some early oils stuff.
Dance floor intro is straight out of the Blue album.
Van Halen is obviously good ....but Moginie means more to me as an Aussie.

Classic Oils riffs written by Moginie include.
Armistice day
Power and the passion
Read about it
powderworks
Run by night
Cold cold change
Short memory
Hercules
Only the strong
No time for games

and the absolutely awesome "Stand in line" just to name a few.

Sorry... eddie , Yangwe and all the other posing seppo's or euro axemen don't do anything for me.

Really , really , really fast pentatonic scales are not original.

Moginie is an Australian legend .

Are you serious? Better get off the hyge man, chemicals are no good for you.

Moginie couldnt hold a candle to Eddie van halen.

Oils had some catchy tunes but at the end of the day are a very boring band.

Can't believe steve Vai has only had one mention!!!

And noone has mentioned Stevie Ray Vaughan

1. Hendrix
2. Vaughan
3. Jimmy Page
4. Steve Vai
5. Dave Gilmour, Yngwie Malmstein (but he's definitely an acquired taste), Vernon Reid.

I Don't take drugs .

Two different styles ...like I said the Aussie version means more to me....much more.

I have seen the oils live.

We are talking guitarists here, you cant see past the hair or the image of 80's metal to recognise some of the talent that was apparent.
Maybe you should listen to more van halen than what is played for you on MMM.

Short memory v Hot for teacher.

Its pretty simple really who has more talent.

Oh Ron you are still really upset about that PM thing aren't you?

Ok here is a challenge for you.

Quote me where I said "Moginie is a better guitarist than Van Halen".

Until then you can go back to crying about my opinion of your sh*t house taste in music.

For a sec I thought you were referring to the Oils as a hair band... never mind...

Well precious , if you hadn't put sh*t on The Ramones fans when Jonny Ramone died I would of left you alone.

You ( unprovoked ) came into a thread about the tragic death of a man from a hugely inspirational band and started spoofing on about some bloke from Ratt and how much more important he was.

You still have that sh*t in your sig.

So now I show you as much respect as you showed us then.

But the Ramones are sh*t:lol:, anyway fair enough, i probably shouldn't of did that, however at the same time the music world IMO didn't looses anyone more then a below average guitarist, thats all i was stating, even though i probably did it at the wrong time.
