Thanks for the heads up on Taste of Evil. It's not on TPB so I'll grab the copy of Youtube.

Also starring Roddy McDowell and Arthur O Connell just before doing the Poseidon Adventure.

There was another movie made in 1973 that was on you tube for years called Scream Pretty Peggy which starred Bette Davis and Ted Bessell, it was pretty ordinary so i didn't down load it, it was released on DVD a couple of years ago and since then the copy has disappeared off you tube.

A few more

Death Valley (this one has got Paul Le Mat aka John Milner from American Graffiti in it)
Devil Times Five aka Peopletoys (this one has Boss Hogg from Dukes of Hazzard in it)
Frightmare (both the 1974 and 1983 movies that have this title but are different movies)

General Zod mentioned The Exorcist about 12 years ago and true it is probably the best horror movie ever made,
Obviously didn't see it in its original theatre run but caught in when it was re run in 1982, as a bit of of a rebellion against the Catholic church i did have a few giggles at some things i shouldn't have while the rest of the theatre was screaming. I saw the directors cut in the late 90 s or early 2000 s but prefer the original theatrical cut.
Have on blu ray the theatrical cut and an extended directors cut which i haven't watched yet, i 'm trying to work out how many cuts of the movie there was two different versions of the spider walk scene, one where she comes down the stairs and vomits up blood and the other she chases her mother with her tongue out like a lizard.

The Omen

I didn't see it at the theatres and caught it on TV, thought it was a nice tight thriller, obviously a few scenes were cut on TV and one day i got it out on VHS and one scene left me going WTF, it was the scene when the truck rolled back with the plate glass on it, the way it was done on TV you saw the truck roll back and then it was cut but you knew what happened, however when i viewed on VHS it showed the glass sliding off the back of the truck and slicing off David Warner's head, i was horrified and thought it really cheapened the movie and it lost a few points from me. Still a good horror movie though and the priest getting speared by the lightning rod is a great scene.

I agree Exorcist has to be in the discussion for greatest horror movie. For me it's crowning glory is the use of Mike Oldfields music from Tubular Bells for the theme. I am a lifelong Mike Oldfield fan so it gets big points from me for that.

Actually the music is one of the most haunting parts of the movie. The scene where Chris walks back from the movie shoot and she is walking down the street where the autumn leaves are falling and the kids are trick or treating then the nuns walk past with their habits blowing in the wind is absolutely amazing because of the tubular bells theme playing, i find this scene one of the most atmospheric and creepy part of the movie because of the score.

You're old enough you might remember this Horrie. The ABC used to use it as one of the ways to fill in the gaps from having no ads so the next show would start on the hour. It's from Oldfields Incantations album (one of my favourites)
