Just curious mate, I'm guessing we're pretty much the same age. I was born in 1970 (the year of one of our Premierships). I assume you're around the same time?

I'm a bit older, born in 1963.
Lived half a block away from the old Sports Ground. I remember 1970 very well mainly because my father sold the property at Paddington and we moved out to Kingsford. We moved out of Paddington NYE 1970 :(

Living so close to the ground would have felt like you were there with all the crowd noise. Must have been awesome.
You could hear the roar of the crowd and the sirens from the backyard. I went a few times with my father to the games, probably started around 1967 i would think, i remember being more interested in sliding down the hill than watching the game then.
The noise from the speedway at the Showground was another thing i remember living so close.

The Omen

I didn't see it at the theatres and caught it on TV, thought it was a nice tight thriller, obviously a few scenes were cut on TV and one day i got it out on VHS and one scene left me going WTF, it was the scene when the truck rolled back with the plate glass on it, the way it was done on TV you saw the truck roll back and then it was cut but you knew what happened, however when i viewed on VHS it showed the glass sliding off the back of the truck and slicing off David Warner's head, i was horrified and thought it really cheapened the movie and it lost a few points from me. Still a good horror movie though and the priest getting speared by the lightning rod is a great scene.

A great Richard Donner, The Omen 2 was also great, So was The final conflict with Sam Neil.

#3 is full of quotes galore.
The bit with Zsa Zsa Gabor just before your quote and the host Dick Cavett says - let me ask you something…who gives a f**k what you think?
My wife and I tease each other with that every so often. lol
That's one area Freddie has over Michael and Jason - the quips. The latter two being so taciturn had to let their actions do all the talking. Freddie got to go all Groucho Marx all the time.

I always liked Damien Omen 2.
Someone copied the the series for me including The Final Conflict and The Awakening. even though i already had the first movie on DVD. Have not watched the Final Conflict since it screened on TV in 1983 apart from watching a few minutes when it last aired on TV, have not seen The Awakening at all.

In the early 70 s there was a series on TV called Ghost Story /Circle Of Fear which was opened by Sebastian Cabot, it featured many stars of the day. Two that i remember was one had Karen Black in it called Bad Connection and another with Susan Dey called Doorway to Death, there were many more which i watched but these two stick in my head.
Not sure whether the whole series is available but there are plenty available on you tube.

Looks to be about 9 eps up on TPB (including the Susan Dey one). Unfortunately doesn't appear to be any seeders at the moment.

Curious what everybodys fave. Stephen King adaptation is. Obviously most will opt for The Shining, but I have Christine a close second then probably Salems Lot next. Lots of really good ones to choose from.
