Sonny Bill against Brisbane in 2008 (his last game before leaving), we had been struggling and he put in a massive game to help us get the win at Suncorp.

It was 3 players but Buettner was binned twice so 4 sin bins all up, Hindmarsh and Dykes were the others. The Knights still struggled to get the win as well.

Well it was hard to win when the parra players slowed the play the ball down for much of the match.

Johns games in the 05 origin and 1998 final against the bulldogs were pretty amazing.

Allan Langer - SOO Game 3 2001

Recalled by Wayne bennett from England after being dumped by the broncos in 1999, Alfie absolutely tore NSW apart in the decider setting up 3 tries and scoring 1 himself.

Even as a NSW fan you had to admire the comeback

What have u been smoking? Langer retired a third of the way through the season because he lost his love for the game.

Hadley said after the Newcastle v Tigers game last year where benji stared it was the most dominate one man display he had ever seen in 30 years of football.....

He was given the pump - allegations at the time were flying around that he was involved in match fixing...no substance though

Allegations of match fixing? First I've heard of it!

Clyde and Mackay both received the Clive Churchill medal. Jason Stevens broke his finger in the '93 Grand Final, and later at the hospital after having it operated on he saw Brad being presented with the medal on TV and thought St George had won!

I agree with Joey's Game 3 2005 performance, I'd nominate his return against the Broncos in 2001 as well. He was on fire that night, the individual try he burrowed over for was all class.

Sorry - This was only pub talk......hence I added nothing of substance...it goes he was heavily in debt on the greyhounds and was not throwing games, just margins 1-12 ...13+ etc...Bennet knew something was amiss and gave him the hook......

Pretty hard to beat this effort: (pointed out to me by a mate recently)

Terry Lamb, 1987 Vs Wests
Bulldogs won 26-16
Terry Lamb scored 26 Points (4 tries, 5 goals) http://www.bulldogs.com.au/default.aspx?s=match-results

Hodgo scored more against the cowboys in the 2005 1st semi...30 points from memory.....

Was a little young a the time but can always remember Brandy and Cliff Lyon carving sides up

Ellery in 88 was the reason Balmain made the Grand Final a year earlier than they should have was totally dominant in every game he played except for the grand final, unfortunately Lamb found his weakness in the one that counted .

He was good that day, but Brad Mackay in the 1993 GF was the best display from a losing GF side I've seen, as well as Brad Clyde in 1991.

Bradley Clyde did bugger all in the 1991 Grand final worst man of the match decision of all time, Mal Meninga was Canberra's best player by a million miles he saved at least 3 tries set up one and was just awesome, Clyde was lucky to be in the best five players on the pitch it was an utter joke of a decision.

The other one for me is when Andrew Johns absolutely torched the Cowboys up in Townsville. I still remember that game for some reason, it was pure dominance.

You remember it because you were at my house watching it, we were playing each other in round 13 of VNRL and i had Johns as my kicker so while i was watching my team get f**king thrashed on TV, the mighty FNQ Allstars were romping it in. That might have even been the same season Joe Gulavao scored a triple double for me......against the Cowboys.

I remember that game vividly also, to be honest though the Cowboys were, at best, some of the worst f**king drivel that had ever graced an NRL level field.

They regulary had 50+ put on them and had the Doggies touch them up by over 60 only the season before.

So its hard to rate that performance very highly.

Cliff Lyons in the 87 Grand Final was unstoppable. He had a blinder.

I remember that Tallis one. I remember him taking a kick off and basically going the length of the field untouched. I also remember Fritz the big Illawarra prop absolutely owning the Warriors that year as well.

Stand outs for me, Colin Best for the Raiders against Mark Gasnier and the Dragons. Best was on another planet brushing off Gasnier at will that afternoon.

Fittler, 1995 v the Kiwis, amazing. Even his long kicking was bringing them tries.

Not so much a one match performance, more a quarter of an hour of plunder. Sione Faumuina versus Parramatta at Parramatta in 2003 when PJ Marsh got badly injured. The Warriors are down 3 tries to 1 at halftime, Sione comes out after half time, makes three breaks from inside his own half including a chip over the top regather and trip to the sticks. Great times. Then Michael Witt absolutely destroyed us as the Warriors clocked off 10 minutes early to lose the unthinkable.

PJ Marsh v Parramatta, earlier game against Parramatta. Pound for pound some of the most brutal defence, and for good measure went untouched from 45m under the sticks.

One other great performance I recall was on the '93 or '94 France tour of NZ. They brought over their own referee, and boy, was he their own referee or what? NZ won the first test in Auckland ok, then the second test at Palmerston North from memory was a refereeing debacle. The French ripped us a decade before with the Rainbow Warrior but this dude was back to give us another covert backside gaping.
