Has to be Orford or Preston we needed halves and gave some nuffies games. Yet premiership winners and dally M winners didn't get a game.

Colin Van Der Voort was robbed by injury he would of definitely made the 1990 Kangaroo tour.

Best player to never play origin is Darren Britt who was always overlooked for Origin but usually picked by Australia.

Best player to play neither is Preston Campbell it's outrageous he never got picked for Origin i have no doubt if he was a Queenslander he would of played 10 games.

Nathan Blacklock being overlooked for Jamie Ainscough is another which was ridiculous.

I know he got given one game where he scored the winning try but David Peachey only playing one Origin for NSW was an utter joke also. Starting to see a bit of a pattern emerge.

Lately Matt Orford not getting picked over the likes of Peter Wallace was a strange one.

I think Luke Douglas can consider himself unlucky to be overlooked by the blues at a time of front rower shortages.

Pretty sure it's just geniused selectors, not racism

Hey Presto and Tingha were too small for Origin... apparently.

@natheel: I thought Morrison did get a game for NSW at some point?

I agree about Matt Orford. Ridiculous he never got picked.

Presto and/or Orford should of at least got games from 06-08/09. Instead of throwing in Mullen and Pearce while they were still 10 years old and dumping them after one game.

Yeah Kevin Hastings for sure. He never played for Australia and only managed one Origin appearance. Nowhere near enough for someone who was:

Rothmans Medal winner 1981
Dally M Halfback of the Year 1980, 1981, 1982
Rugby League Week Player of the Year 1980, 1981, 1982

Blacklock, Glenn Morrison, Preston Campbell. Nathan Merritt was unlucky to get a go when you consider in the past few years the Blues have selected nuffies like James McManus, Steve Turner, David Williams, and Anthony Quinn on the wing. And now that Uate and Gordon have emerged he'll never get a go so LOL@50uff$

I hate Mundine, but the non selections of Campbell,Blacklock and Peachey for many years was ridiculous. Mundine was wrong because it was all about him he played more origin games than those 3 combined but was probably less deserving.

They constantly made excuses he is too small etc, yet were being carved up by Matt Bowen.

Blacklock's continued omission was offensive. Especially when you consider that he was consistently overlooked for the likes of Jason Moodie and Jamie Ainscough - both average first graders.

Whereas on the other hand one could easily argue that Nathan Blacklock is the best NSW-born winger since Eric Grothe Sr.

Cambpell has never looked Origin quality tbh, besides 2005. Peachey was a great player and was unlucky, but we've had some top fullbacks over the years. Backlock definitely should have been there.

I reckon it's stupid when people think the NSW selectors are racists, though. Idris got picked for NSW when you could even argue he shouldn't of. Learoyd-Lahrs, Tahu and Bird also have aboriginal heritage, then you've got some of the pacific island players like Uate and Jennings playing for NSW.

IMO it's absolutely disgraceful that Preston Campbell never got a run for NSW. He was incredible for such a long period of time and there was more then a few years where the players picked were not only not as talented, they weren't as experienced or consistent as Presto.

At the very least he deserved a run off the bench or something. Some people seem to think it was racism that led to him being left out... but there are plenty of players that prove that theory to be false IMO. At the end of the day we've just had genius selectors who seem to favor size over talent, form or using players in position.
