I just thought of an awesome but probably not very well known rock intro. Evil by Mercyful Fate. Do yourself a favour and look it up, even if you only hear the intro. It does not get much better ANYWHERE else. Metallica kind of covered this song on Garage Inc. but you really have to hear Mercyful Fate's intro to the song to appreciate it.

I love the intro to King Diamond's 'Them'. I can't believe his female voice - it sounds deadset like a chick!! He's a freak.

Also PaullyBoy - the intro to Cowboys From Hell always gets me going. It just has this energy - and Dimebag kicks arse!!

Actually he doesn't 'sing' like a chick. When King Diamond writes an album it's always a concept album (ie. a single story) and he plays all the characters. Some spoken some sung. On 'Them' he speaks a woman's voice at the start and it's f**king incredible.
