^ Not to mention.

Stagg
Sims
Te'o
Wapau
Tupou
Spence
Glenn

as alternative options I believe we're well versed in that department.

On-topic...

Melbourne.

All teams look fantastic on paper, its just whatevers teams playing gel well together, build some form and stay injury free. Injuries something the Broncos ALWAYS struggle with, I hate to say it but it will cost us again this season.

The thing I admire about Thaiday is that he looks to be awsomely quick to play the ball. I'd love to see some stats about his ruck speed in attack.

Is he the most adept forward at getting quick play the balls in the NRL?

Thaiday is good
Setu unprovem, parker nothing special, stagg a tackling workhorse hand but offers little in making yards, sims should be so much better but he isnt, Te'o pretty average and lazy.

And with a very average front row i think it will be a struggle for the broncs. Simply is not the pack of a couple of seasons ago. Broncs have always been the best when they have a dominant front row, be it Webke and Petero for nearly a decade, or Lazerus before that etc. At the moment they have a mediocre front row, especially if Clinton keeps getting picked, he is a terrible forward.

I second that.... he'd have to be one of the quickest for sure. At times he reminds me of that Tasmanian Devil character from the old Buggs Bunny cartoons...

A lot of Roosters fans seem to really pessemistic about next year. I'm not sure why. We have kept the same side that got us to the top 4 this year, while a few sides around us such as Melbourne have got worse. We have a young side which will only improve with experience, and as a result i'm expecting us to not see many second half capitulations like we saw this year. So why the doom and gloom?

that's the problem ... the same side that flopped at the back end of the year and capitulated in every second match from half time ... no one creative in the team besides setaimata sa and MAUBS ...

i don't see what will change from this year to next and i can't see us replicating 08 let alone doing better

i'm predicting 9,8 or 7

Just shows most of you have NFI. Parra to get spoon. They will be the big improvers and the best bet at odds for next year. Top 4 with the talent they have can win the comp. Just needed the change of coach:D

No bias in this post...:sarcasm:

:lol::lol::lol: - Should read INCONSISTENCY
.
And on topic - I can't go past the Sea Eagles

Aye!

That's Mondayitus for you. Never the less if Te'o can polish his game up here he will be a nice assett off the bench.

 At R69 asserting that Patten is in the same category as Coote Wesser etc... he's been selected almost yearly for Country Origin - beating out plenty of other fullbacks for that role.

He's definitely a great fullback.

Like who luke Burt? btw you do realise wesser has played origin right? So by your reasoning Patten isn't even in the same catergory as Wesser, he's one below...

By my reasoning? I wasn't the one who placed him in that echelon. I believe he's among the best in the comp - a very prestigous crop tbh

 he's not near the best in the comp, he's not even on the same ball park
Patten is solid, solid as a rock, very consistant at FG level... he's a bulldogs great because he's done so much for them and stuck by them through alot of sh*t, and he definitely earns respect for that.
But he is not even close to being a great player. He's a good, reliable and depenable FGer, nothing more

Agree to disagree on that count, I think he's a fantastic player who was only not a state representative due to being in the comp at a time where both states have enjoyed a wealth of fullback talent.

He's a very good player but because of how many great Fb's are playing now he's not one of the best in the comp
Slater,Bowen,Gidley,Stewart,Minichello,McKinnon,Hunt,Campbell are all better

I'd pick Patten over Campbell and maybe Hunt.

I really really rate Patten.
