Well the Thunder have won a title. Had to hire a few oldies in Kallis & Hussey and an Uzzie special to get us over the line.

Better then nothing i suppose unlike the glamour club called the Melbourne Stars who have duck egg to show for in what 13 years.

Theyve produced so many good games and also some shockers. I think that choke against the Renegades is still haunting them.

As for the Thunder back then they at least worked out the issues the season before and once Kallis announced his intentions of going to the BBL they threw the money at him and add to that Mr Cricket came to help. Uzzie came back for the semis and produced two big scores. Dre Russ was a great T20 player. McKay was a handy T20 bowler.

I think the people in charge believe this current squad has so much potential and ignore the failures.

Thunder had a 1 year window to win the title and took it.

Thankfully Khawaja wasn't in the ODI team back then which was a bit controversial from memory as he was scoring runs for fun.

They have been around the mark a touch for 3/4 years but haven't been threatening. I havent seen much this year but the scores look pretty average.

Melbourne Stars are the South Africans of the BBL.

I still remember a year they lost a semi final because they didn't have enough fielders inside the ring on the last ball and gave the scorchers a free hit off the last ball to win.

Then they lost a semi final after going through unbeaten.

Then you have that Renegades Final debacle.

I am sure there might be 1 or 2 more in there as well.
