BIG BASH 23-24 (Mens and womens)

It’s really pathetic. Tonight's crowd sums up how the comp has been going the last few years. Also the fact that Thunder is playing on Tuesday but Heat is playing again tomorrow just seems so confusing
There were a number of contributing factors
-Foxtel deal
-extending the season too long
-weaker imports
-excessive tinkering with stupid rules
-teams looking identical
-sandpapergate (killed the casual crowd)
-covid (games getting canned in game day certainly didn’t help)

whilst we were never going to get 90k year on year for Melbourne games, it should never have hit this level

This Year?

Yeah what year was it they got 80,000 for the Melbourne derby? And a sold out crowd at Adelaide.

I went to a Melbourne derby last season and I reckon there were 20k at least.

Yeah once upon a time at least every team had a big International star and the coverage was great. I actually liked the 10 coverage. I dont mind the Fox coverage but 7 bores me to tears. I think last summer the commentary was some AFL bloke and Brad Hodge which cured my insomnia

175 in the end is probably par...could have been more if Smithy stayed there, but oh well.

Now for Fatty Finch to score 36*(52)

Does he bat 8 and not bowl? When you’re an opener and Maddinson is opening ahead of you, it’s time to give it away.

The English are f**king terrible cricketers. 7 runs between the 4 of them. Won the moral battle though.
