Top 3 in the race to get a top 2 spot

Bottom 5 in the race to get the 4th spot

Last 3 games saw the top 3 teams take victories over the 3 bottom teams. Prior to that, the Stars got over the Renegades.

HUGE game in the context of what happens to the top 2, and that last 4 spot. Canes win tonight, and they guarantee themselves top 2. Heat win, and they take a huge step towards claiming 4th - it'd move them to 4th, with only the Renegades to play. Stars would be the only team able to catch them in that case, and it'd require them beating Hobart, while Heat losing to the Renegades. Essentially the Heat can end the Strikers, the Scorchers and the Renegades seasons (mathematically) by winning tonight.

Don't know how reliable Tom Morris is but:

Beau Webster (Melbourne Stars)
“Beau Webster looks headed back to @HurricanesBBL after eight seasons in Victoria. Nothing official yet, but all parties expect it to happen,” Morris wrote.

Mitch Owen (Hobart Hurricanes)
“@StrikersBBL are heavily into Mitch Owen, who is weighing up his options.

AJ Tye, Jason Behrendorff & possibly Ashton Agar (Perth Scorchers)
“Looks like some or all of AJ Tye, Jason Behrendorff & possibly Ashton Agar will be on the move as @ScorchersBBL pivot to youth, though Aaron Hardie has re-committed on a multi-year deal.

Tim David & Riley Meredith (Hobart Hurricanes)
“Tim David & Riley Meredith are both hoping for better deals from @HurricanesBBL, and if they can't fit in the cap, expect @StarsBBL to pounce.

Harry Dixon (Melbourne Renegades)
“Expect @StrikersBBL & @ThunderBBL to have a crack at @RenegadesBBL batter Harry Dixon if he doesn't re-sign this week.”

The international players leave in a couple days time or so

So come finals, they wont be around

Think Sixers hit the hardest Abbot, Smith and Murphy all gone after tomorrow night
plus they have lost Vince

Thunder lose Konstas

Stars lose Webster

Heat lose Kuhnemann

Think Hurricanes dont lose anyone so really they should be huge favourites from here...

I say it every season but my gosh, it sucks to lose players at the crunch end due to other tournaments and/or international duty. Better planned calendar imo.

Imagine playing an NRL season and with 3 games left your marquee players go off to play elsewhere.

Will be interesting when finals roll around. Ive said most of the season that the Sixers are miles off and without Vince or Smudge I can’t see them winning it. I think it’s between the Canes and Tunder
