Had a feeling when they were 26 req off 10 balls, they would still win it. Bowling was just terrible towards the end there.

But its nice way to send Brett Lee off for the last time at the SCG.

Lol what a way for Thunder to finish their season, they never fail to provide a laugh. I wonder if they'll ever beat the Sixers.

Congratulations to Brett Lee too, what a champion.

Sixers the best hope for a Champions League title at full strength but they are going to need a miracle to beat Adelaide especially that batting.

Henriques is 50/50 given that he'll be playing in Hobart tomorrow.

But the Strikers have to stumble at some point. I really don't think they're as good as the results have shown, just that they have some very solid cricketers all playing to potential. An off night on Saturday and anything could happen.

Also just as an aside, with the crowds and viewing numbers they're getting this competition surely can't be too far off expanding.

I know they don't want to dilute the player pool, but surely it can't be far from going from an 8 to either 10 or 12 match season. If they started playing double-headers on the weekends they wouldn't need to extend the competition that much longer either.

The big question is where to expand. Canberra? Geelong ? Another Queensland team ?

I think this has been one of the biggest comps we've had. Big crowds, great games, so many overseas players. The comps getting bigger and better.

Don't see the need for expansion, the comp is going great as it is. I don't think there is anywhere crying out for a team. Adelaide 2 is the only one I can think of.

Oh sorry, I left out my main point.

I meant expanding the current 8 match format to a 10-12 match format. Keep the eight teams.

Apparently there have been expressions of interest from Canberra, Geelong, The Gold Coast and Newcastle for clubs but CA doesn't want to dilute the player pool.

When they do inevitably expand though, it'll be the fist non-destructive thing AFL has ever achieved in relation to cricket ever by having established stadiums in three of those centres suitable for BBL.

Apparently Newcastle Council suggested in a bid to CA that Hunter Stadium could be used as a venue.

You'd hit a French cut for into the carpark.

Hunter might be a stretch...haha. 40m boundaries on two sides would make for interesting cricket.

They've played shield games at Newcastle Sportsground though. Might be worth a game to see how it goes as a venue

No lights or corporate facilities and a capacity that would be bulging at about 10,000.

Spend some coin on it and it'd be a decent venue though.

Thunder just need a decent spearhead, and maybe a good finisher with the bat. If Cummins hadn't been called up to Aus they'd have done better...they need a Behrendorff, a quality bowler who will fly under the international radar.
