In all my Tool excitement I didn't really look at the rest of the line up, except for Rammstein there isn't much that interests me a whole lot, going to have to check out some of the bands I don't know before the day.

Has there ever been a less inspiring line up on the main stage??

I'll be spending the vast majority of my time at the smaller stages by the looks, making a special effort to be near one of the exits to the main arena 15 minutes after Rammstein start to watch all people flooding out of there after they realise they don't actually know any of their songs

Best Big Day Out ever !!!!!!!

Still some crap bands on the main stages but........

Airborne, old school pub rock, you cant go wrong with good material, best part was when the guitarist climbed the scaffold right to the top and played a guitar solo perched on top of the scaffold between the two stages, about 25 metres in the air, amazing.

John Butler, best I've ever seen him play, played an amazing instrumental solo, the guy can play. His live stage show is much better then last time I saw him, just sitting down and talking to the people, great drum solo at the end with all three playing percussion.

Deftones were very very good, worth a look.

Rhamstein..............................just wow, I'm speechless, worth the price of admission, had my face melted by their stage show, then got sprayed with bubbles at the end.

Tool, the band I wanted to see the most and never fail to deliver, just a shame they didn't play 10,00 days.

Best BDO ever.

geez, reading the media reports I wonder what BDO they went to,

so they didn't like some bands, the 55,000 people who turned up obviously did

That instrumental solo is called "Ocean" the live versions (youtube/St. Gallen CD) are better than the recorded one.

I loved PNAU, JBT, BoT, Children Collide and Lupe Fiasco. :D

For those who went in Brissy, was it still the same 3.0% drinks everywhere?

Trying to judge how much vodka I'll need to be sneaking in this year. Last year we only brought in a couple of small flasks but they weren't enough. Thankfully the jagermeister tents were selling full shots so that helped.

Gold Coast actually

mid strength beer only, body searches on the way in but they dont touch you, you have to lift up your skirt, or in my case my shirt and empty your pockets, taping the flask to the inside leg works

also had sniffer dogs at the main gate and caught a few people but plenty got through, you dont need to light up in the D barrier, just breathe
