I have a hunch the old school band might be Sonic Youth (which would be awesome) & I am hopeful Soundgarden will do a sideshow in Sydney (and other states) they would sell out Acer Arena 5 nights in a row IMO.

I take it no, as Sydney can buy theirs tonight, which they lost me as a ticket buyer... I was somewhat keen, but really needed a dynamite band in the next announcement for me to get a ticket.

Its to Soundwave for me it seems.

Just bought my misses tickets for her birthday. Got 90 cents change out of 360 dollars lol.

Pretty expensive but will be a fun day.

Same. If no good bands the 2nd announcement I will just watch the Soundgarden sideshow. The problem is Sydney sells out no matter how poor the lineup. Hardly surprising when a good 1/2 of the crowd doesn't even see a band.

BDO is a mainstream festival. I don't know why people get so cut about it or post WORST LINE UP EVER. Just don't go. I mean if you are into indie rock/indie dance there is Laneway a month later and if you are into heavier rock there is Soundwave. If Soundwave wasn't so poorly organised and I could find some mates to come with me I would attend all three.

Gets me out the house.

I know it's selfish but I hope they play at a smaller venue, I prefer the atomsphere at the Hordern than the acer or Sydney Entertainment centre.

I remember when RATM came out all the sideshow tickets were gone after ten minutes, standing tickets were gone in one.

Agreed.

But, the first Laneway announcement was pretty weak imo. By comparison with previous years anyway.

Harvest = Festival of the year/Summer.

So pumped for Harvest, just over a month till I get to see Portoisehead woop woop. Shaping up to be an unbelievable day out.

Still I think Soundwave will be better, but screw BDO $175 for that lineup is pretty ordinary... I'll attend a Soundgarden sideshow and avoid all the douchebags.

I thought that when it was announced but there are some decent acts. I quite like Pains of Being Pure at Heart even if they are just mindless pap and M83.

A lot I haven't heard of which makes me wonder if I am getting out of touch with music.

Harvest Festival does have a mighty line up though. Pick of the summer so far.

no idea.

what does everyone think?

I have a rule, if there are least 10 Acts i want to see, then the ticket is worth it.

This line up give me about 15.
