You really don't have much do you?

Today's A League Final was awesome. An Unbelievable atmosphere. Now, just because you don't like soccer, you expect everyone else to agree with you. Dip****.

No one on this forum comes close to how stupid and narrowminded you are. I'm sure there are many on this forum that agree with me.

You need to get out more and experience things other than the Tigpies.

Go the mighty FC!!!!!!! Syyyyydneyyyyyyy...

Brilliant game and Atmosphere!!!!!

Rugby League the greatest game of All...

Soccer is great... Went WC Qualifier and the atmosphere was simply awesome! Best I've ever been too, and I've been to GF, SOO, Test Matches, A trillion NSWRL, SL, NRL games, Final series games and yes last years semi final;-) ... I'm going to Germany and looking forward to it!!!!! BUT that doesn't mean RL isn't great... It's my first passion and will always be my number one sporting passion!!! You are allowed to support two codes of FOotball... Just not AFL and Union:lol:

I wonder how many of those who went today will be buying tickets in coming years if there was a soccer GF at Aussie Stadium again. I mean once the hype of the 'new dawn' for soccer and the novelty of the inaugraul A-League comp has worn off. I say this because when the Northern Spirit NSL team first came in they had sell out crowds too but a few years pass and the Spirit crowds were measured in 100's not 10000's and now the team no longer exists.

Well, the bar has been set for the Tigers first home game to get at least 41,690 bums on seats. Not because it really matters, just to see if we can match it with these young upstarts.

Only those who haven't been to a game and seen the Cove in action and are too pigheaded to understand that football fans (you know, the ones who like the biggest sport in the world) finally have an avenue to come together as one and enjoy their sport, are whining about the A-League's success.

I've been to Origin, GFs, Internationals, etc and the only thing that competes with the passion of the crowd at today's game was the baseball world series and the NHL playoffs.

I'll give you a tip. The NRL would be better if the crowds showed more passion on a consistent basis and were more vocal in their support.

which NSL team did you follow before the A-League began?

You're missing the point.

The problem with the football leagues of the past was that they weren't truly representative of the entire community.

The A-League clubs are. Sydney FC are representing Sydney, and that's me and even you (assuming you're a Sydney-sider).

What time was this "grand" final on at? I've just checked the tv guide and can find no mention of it.

That will come soon enough as people who have been in the cove and other a league supporter groups and experienced it will bring it to their rugby league supporter groups.

Are Gold Coast Titans fans bandwagoners ucantseeme?

I'd need to rumage through their bedroom to see if I could find a Chargers jersey or a Seagulls beanie or a Crushers keyring before I could answer that question sunny.

You're missing the point

All I've done is ask a simple question & no straight forward answer has been given. It's strange how you soccer people hold the A-League in such high regard but look on the NSL as some sort of joke.

Theyre trying now....a futile exercise.

Why would 20% of a Rugby league crowd be cheering and chanting while a prop is getting blood wiped off his head before a scrums packed/?

The crowd in soccer can chant and sing and be "passionate" for 80-90 minutes or whatever it is because the game is like a heart monitor on a cardio patient when he kicks that last bucket....its a flatline game, with an occasional blip which are the goals.......league as a game has way too many peaks and troughs and exciting moments, the excitement builds as a team works its way down the other end in a set of six, it builds like a crescendo, and the crowds react accordingly, a knock on occurs or the game breaks down its highly evident by the decibels of the crowd....where in soccer one second the balls at one end and in the blink of an eye and one good punt its down the other......people trying to get soccer "atmosphere" in RL games have no idea and are wasting their time.
As has been mentioned many many times prior, when you have a game thats as boring as batsh1t, the crowd will make their own fun.

Soccer is like a rollercoaster with no hills.

Disagree. Anyone who's seen English RL crowds in action will tell you they sh*t all over us Aussies in terms of atmosphere at the game. I wish we were more like them in that regard.

thanx for the tip but we rugby league supporters aren't pretending to be real supporters by sing songs to annoy the other team or show their passion. Real passion comes for following your team blindly through thick and thin not by chanting for 90 minutes. These "Football Supporters" were no where to be seen when NSL was going bad. a couple of bad losses by the socceroos and the "passion" will fizzle out.

The NSL was crap. Too many teams and the skill level wasn't as great.
The A League is competitive which is why it is alot better to watch. People just dont know a good thing when they see it. Tigers fans are spewing because it's taking their shine off their win last year. Seeing leichardt with Sydney FC instead of Tigers must be killing you all on the inside.
