Hailing from Parkes, Burns progressed through the junior development pathways at Panthers. In 2019 he was the leading try-scorer for the Panthers Canterbury Cup side, with 12 tries from 20 games, and was rewarded with an NRL debut against Sydney Roosters. Burns bagged his first two NRL tries in the final game of the season against Newcastle the following week.

Burns gives the Dragons some much needed depth in the backrow. His signing, along with the rumoured signing of Fifita from the Sharks brings our squad number to 29, leaveing only one spot left in our top 30.

Will the Club sign McGuire from the Cowboys to complete our squad for 2021 or do you think we have someone else in mind?

I’ll be surprised if we sign Burns, Fifita or McGuire. Every announcement so far has come out of left field catching us all by surprise. It’s almost like someone’s strategically dropping names occasionally to take everyone’s minds off the real play. Either way, it doesn’t appear Millward has as much involvement when compared to previous years and that can only be a good thing.

Griffin and his coaching staff will convert them from grubs to battle hardened Dragons. No one wants grubs.
