Yeah....very insular up there. Birdy will be viewed as an outsider initially and will need to prove himself to the fans to get their approval.

If the article has any truth in it, which is unlikely, then the Broncos have well and truly lost the plot.

Paying $700 000 for a centre ($1 million? but let's pretend it is $700 000 on the cap and nothing else for arguments sake...), especially one who is not happy to be a centre but they can get him "more involved", is crazy.

If this is a sign of the Broncos recruiting, and they have no solutions to the poor 5th tackle options they showed the other night, I hope Bird enjoys a season of winning this year, because he'll lose as many as he wins over the following 4 years.

I have never seen so many so called supporters berate a player for having the audacity to sign with another club. In one week he's has gone from a world beater to public enemy number one. Particularly from a club who has zilch juniors in its lineup and doesn't mind who they sign. Or that's right, it's the culture.
