In these days of COVID-19, and the way we suspect the virus is transmitted, why would you be so stupid to put any part of your hand into another player's mouth?

I'm not condoning Proctor though. Biting has no place on the football field.

Not supposed to tackle around the head. If Johnson’s arm wasn’t in his face we wouldn’t be talking about biting.
There seems to be more and more head high tackles let go and in stark contrast when you flick over to union and anything above the shoulders is a 10 minute sit down

Yep - this is really what you want called as a high tackle?

The thing that worries me is that somehow Proctor can cop less of a ban because he and Johnson are mates and he doesn’t want to pursue the incident any further or give evidence at the MRC. Same thing happened when DCE raked his fingers across Buhrer’s eyes in the dying seconds of a game a couple of years ago.

"Biting is an instinctual reaction". Except it wasn't for Tyran Smith in 2002:

McQueen was so close, but managed not to bite:

Slater didn't follow through and give evidence in the Graham judiciary hearing - he copped 12 weeks.

Proctor had to bite cos he couldn't breathe just like Slater had to shoulder charge because it was the safest thing he could do.

He literally reacted as soon as Proctor bit him FFS. What kind of reaction are you expecting?

"Wasn't all that conclusive" except for the video showing a bite, and Johnson's arm showing marks.

The fact that we have literally heard half a dozen of different excuses should just tell you it was clearly a bite. "I have sinus issues and couldn't breath", "He feared for his life", "He was choking me and was on my throat".

I may be in the minority here, which is sad, but if there is evidence of a player biting, they should be sent. As for Hetherington tackle, yep - he should have been sent too.
Haha, yeah the attempted gaslighting around this is getting ridiculous. Proctor bit SJ on the arm because he didn't like something in the tackle. He will get a long suspension. End of story.

Yes. It’s above the shoulders on the head. It’s a high tackle. There really shouldn’t be a grey area. At the moment a high tackle seems to be only if the player does a Blake Ferguson and stays down.

You should change your name to Blockhead.

It suits you better.

Proctor reckons no air makes its way in or out his nose. So every time you see him with his mouth closed, he's holding his breath.

For what it’s worth, I don’t think it was a bite in the traditional sense - he didn’t chomp down on a chunk of his arm. But I do think he had a brain snap moment - was pissed at the arm across his face, and has used his bottom row of teeth almost like a saw into the arm, he appears to drag his teeth along his arm rather than biting down.
Bit of a sh*tty thing to do, but so are the whole grapple type moves. I’m comfortable if you wanna grapple somebody and put your arm across their mouth, then there may be a consequential reaction that involves the teeth.... wouldn’t want to see him rubbed out for weeks for that.
This is one of those things that would be eradicated if the players were allowed to throw a punch. There’s no way Johnson would be brave enough to be grappling his head if there was a chance Proctor would get up and snot him for it. And if he is brave enough, then let natural justice occur and he can have one on the chin if Proctor so wished.
All grapple is grubby, biting is grubby, ‘hip drops’ are grubby, gouging in grubby etc etc - would all be resolved with the very real threat of a retaliatory right hook to the chops by an enforcer.

I think he tried to bite him but it didnt really cause any harm. He was wearing a mouthguard on the top teeth. Try eating a steak with a mouthguard on!
SJ just wanted a penalty so reacted to it but now there is a major issue for Proctor and SJ wants to back away from the accusations.
IMHO SJ needs to be punished as well as Proctor. This milking shit needs to stop
