Well yesterday I picked up my pack from the post office. After they sent me a final reminder to pick it up. I was expecting the pack to be terrible from everything I've read here but I thought it was actually pretty good.

Just became a Blood Blue Member (I'm really, really poor). Yay!

But it seems I cannot change my birth date on the site. 1/1/1980 it is, even though it's actually 15/03/1985. Oh well!

That would make you a "non-ticketed member" Eele. :thumn.

You'll even get to vote at Football Club elections in 3 years time.

I would like to propose whover purchases a jersey from the BGA shop should get their member number embroided into the jersey just below the club emblem, and I would pay also for a proper fitting member cap with embroided number....

Just on that. I was in Melbourne about 4 years ago, My AFL team were playing on the Same day as the Parramatta Vs Storm game, My AFL team were playing at the MCG so it was a short stroll from the MCG to Olympic Park.

What I loved about My AFL clubs membership stuff, was the Scarf, it has a badge on the Bottom of it that states how long you have been a member.

I took a photo of it, and later that night showed that photo to Ovo and Fitzy. I thought it was a great Idea.

But apparently I was wrong.

I like the idea to Mark, but I don't like our new membership numbers.... too long and confusing

I agree, hence what I said at the AGM.

While for some it is nice to have them read out at the Start of the Game. Every one of those boys has an actual Member Number, not some "Made up" 7 digit code, I would be happier if we announced their Player numbers this year and next year got the fans to feel close to them by announcing their player number and Membership numbers.

It might just be me, but I don't understand those codes at all.

They seem different to our (fan) EELS-member numbers, and aren't explained very well by the guy on the mic before he reads them out.

If they are made up numbers, then maybe they could just make up a code that consists of that player's player number? Something simple with a prefix to make it the usual number of digits. eg EEL-01470 (01 being the year the player played NRL, 470 being the player number)?

For now, I'd much rather the guy on the mic simply read out the jersey numbers, like they did last year. Much less confusing, and just show the other code thing on the screen if they have to.

hopefully its just another way they are trying to sign up members (going look these guys are members, you should be too) - and they'll stop doing it soon when they realise no one cares/knows what the hell they are saying
