Was watching the game between you guys and Wigan last night and I was just wondering, how does your team do so crap with a roster that features:
  • Joe Hart
  • Micah Richards
  • Pablo Zabaleta
  • Shaun Wright-Phillips
  • Robinho
  • Elano
  • Vincent Kompany
  • Benjani
  • Wayne Bridge (although he only recently signed on)
And also, how long till this side starts performing?

Will the sheikh sack Hughes if the club doesn't win a trophy between now and the end of next season?

Can't really blame Milan too much, given the economic times. The money being thrown around is ridiculous.

Okay firstly, Benjani is a massive pile of wank, Elano has been hot and cold, and Richards had his first decent game this year. You also left Ireland off that list, who is an amazing player.

We have been sh*t this year because the midfield has been too lightweight and unwilling to get stuck in, the central defence pairing of Richards and Dunne has been disastrous, and Hughes for the most part has got the tactics all wrong. Saturday's match was the first one that seemed to have the right balance with Zabaleta and Kompany in defensive midfield.

And no, Hughes won't get the sack if there are no trophies by the end of next season. Do you know how hard it is to win one? The main goal will be consistent Euro qualification (top 6-7) with a view to push into the Champs League.

We'll have to review that statement after the off-season.

If City get Kaka then there's no telling what sort of quality they will get to partner him. Not to mention the fact that players would then be more than willing to go to Eastlands.

I wouldnt be surrpised at all if come next season City have one of the top 3 rosters in the league. Of course then the hard part of getting them all to gel begins. But if Huges isnt successful there then id imagine he will go the same way Ranieri did.

If he makes it to the end of this season that is...

they'll still need a striker

Ricky is a right side attacking mid, he plays opposite Ronaldino at Milan in a Christmas tree formation 4-3-2-1

he is at his best when using his pace to charge through the midfield and either shoot or set up the striker, he is not a striker

if they need a striker they couldn't do any worse than that bloke from Fulham... Johnson i think his name is. i think he used to be at Everton.

hes probably not on the level of the players there trying to bring in... but boy he impresses me every time i see him...

Agreed.

But you just know they'll snap up someone like David Villa or a player of similar ilk.

And as big a prick as Bellamy is, with his pace up front he would be very dangerous with the creative talents of Robinho, Kaka and Ireland behind him.

They definately need and probably will pick up two quality central defenders as a priority (amongst others).

Mark Hughes was considered a bit of a "working class hero" during his playing days. Big of an old school type player. This was further enhanced with his very good job at a battling side like Blackburn. Listening him these days talking about it making business sense to sign Kaka for 100 Million is like listening to a different person entirely.

I really don't think his personality will last the way City are heading. If they get Kaka, then a few more will follow and the owners will place huge expectations on the squad.

They need a big manager. Mourinho springs to mind.

2013, 4 years away actually, he just signed a contract extension before christmas

there is alot of resistance in Milan, public displays of protest, official approaches to the board by the members and the general public

If Berlu decides to sell, he could do more than 110mill worth of damage to his credibility

The resistance is growing and they are starting to think twice about selling him.

Its certainly getting interesting

"I will have to probably sell him," the Italian Prime Minister told La Stampa.

"City have made a really big offer to him, more than €15m after tax per year in wages.

"If I don't sell him then the balance of the team will go up in smoke. I risk losing him without earning anything from the deal. I just need to consider the fans and find a transfer hit...we'll see."

milan have been there ... done that

sold off important players in the 1990s and acquired more ... they lose kaka then they have a sh*t load of money to buy whoever they want

Feel sorry for Kaka?

How much is he earning now, and how much will he earn if he signs?

Yeah, I feel real sorry for him......

not the same with this bloke, he has been at milan since he was 19 and always wanted to captain milan

he is not just another milan player, he has been offered big money and knocked it back prior to this

he has previously shown alot of loyalty when others have sold out and as such the fans have stuck by him

like I said, its just getting interesting

zvonimir boban comes to mind immediately ... produced 10 years for the club and was shunned in his last 18 months forced to spend time on loan in spain before basically being kicked out of the club and retiring ... was the milan vice captain if i'm not mistaken

it's happened before and it'll happen now ... life goes on and the protestors will forget about it within a week

he doesn't want the money and he doesn't want to go

Then it's simple Twiz.

Don't sign.

All this poor Kaka stuff is, IMO, just bollocks.

He will be earning more than the GDP of some small third world countries.

Dont want to go? Dont sign.

Dont want the money? Then do some charitable deeds.

In a world environment where more and more people are losing their jobs and homes, you'll excuse me if I dont feel one iota of sympathy for a football player who will be earning as much money as Kaka.
