The Bayern Munich general manager, Uli Hoeness, has attacked Manchester City's extravagant transfers tactics, saying the club had invested its money unwisely and that their expensive signings "can do absolutely nothing". "I saw the Premier League game between Stoke City and Manchester City," he said. "I noticed that millions have been invested by certain people there very badly. I saw that they can do absolutely nothing, even though they were very expensive."
Hoeness is famed for keeping a tight budget having controlled the finances of the German champions for more than two decades, a period in which they have become the country's richest club. Their record signing is Franck Ribéry, bought for 25m (£22.5m) from Marseille 18 months ago, a comparative bargain compared with the £32.5m City paid for Robinho last summer.
Manchester City also paid a fee of about £17m for the Hamburg midfielder Nigel de Jong, a player who could have left the German club for 2m (£1.8m) in July. Hoeness has already sent out a hands-off warning to City and any other club interested in signing Ribéry. He claims that even offers of 100m (£89.8m) would not tempt him to part ways with the France midfielder
Perhaps they arn't such a massive club after all..
QPR have heaps of money, they are a small club also..
Most likely the Summer will see more action for them, including a new manager.
