the entire nsw team have shown they're not up to it. not just pearce. we don't go about sacking the entire team because they are selected on being the best in their positions. it should be as simple as that

Nsw aren't upto it, yet finally win a series when pearce isn't selected?

Dugan in doubt, moylan has a fractured hand.

Looking like Brett Stewart or tedesco might get the gig

the bloke who won it last year is playing nfl, we go backwards by not selecting the best halves this year

Hayne was great in the 1st game last year, but it wasn't because of him we won it, he has played for many years in origin and hasn't won it before last year. Last year we had a combo of great defence, forwards working hard together and dominating, a dash of brilliance from our backline (due to hayne) and our halves not messing up and doing the simple things ( repeat sets, getting the ball to the backs when needed, etc). In the past few years we've almost had all of the combination, but were regularly let down by our halves. Hodkinson and Reynolds were far from great, but not having them fumbling around and continuely mucking up, it allowed for situations were 'Hayne could win it for us'

Matt Moylan has dislocated fingers and a fractured hand. More injury drama for @NSWRL

Part of the reason he struggled in defense during CvC. His defense isn't great but he has made several very good try saving tackles this year. He was told last year to work on it and he has, he wil never be up there with the best defensive fullbacks though.

Anyway if Dugan and Moylan are unavailable then it has to be Tedesco for mine. Moylan has said he is playing this week though.

Jack Wighton should also be in the conversation. Has outplayed both mentioned players when going up against them and is a big body who takes the tough runs and can defend unlike the other two.

I think Wighton should be in the 17 even if Dugan is fit,he is the perfect sort of player for SOO,strong, physical and fast and could play most positions

Start bringing in guys like Peats, Jackson, Wighton and Austin into the squad to train and familiarise themselves with the nucleus of the squad. Might not win this year but we look good for the future.

Yeah but last year was the first one with Hayne at fullback for the whole series. He couldnt effect all that much from the wing

Make no mistake, NSW will be up against it without Hayne there

Certainly it's a lot harder without hayne, their's no denying that, but hayne wasn't the sole reason we won. Just getting a repeat set last year was almost as exhilarating Any of Haynes wwork.m game two we had about ten minutes of repeat sets before we scored the series sealing try, you can Guarantee that wouldn't happen to pearce. And when the opportunity opened up hodkinson took it, I'm not sure pearce would ( as shown in the now infamous gif)
