BS burns alot of bridges when he lets some boys go, and that tends to bite him in the patootie when they get good under someone elses coaching

But of all the guys we've let go, seriously, maybe 3 or 4 have kicked on.

Bulldogs are falling apart.

sorry mate!! I think that's crap.

they have proven in the past to be one of the most resiliant clubs in the league, they almostthrive on bad publicity.

* 2 years after losing the 4 players to us and the back lash of super league they made the grand final.

* 2 years after the sallery cap scandal which rocked the club for that season they won the grand final.

* 6 months after a serious scandal which broke and promised to tear the club apart. they won the comp.

they are not falling apart! not by a long shot.

Just wait. If they continue to lose their players like the media continues to report look for them to be "not as" sucessful as the following years.

Thats the thing about the Bulldogs though....they always seem to bounce back....with strength.
Don't underestimate them.

Bulldogs have shed players at the peak of their career or just making their way down the hill many times in the past so as not to hamper younger players prospects. They let go Darren Britt and Barry Ward when they could have easily played another season at least and it has happened plenty in the past. The Canterbury Four defecting to Parramatta is a good example - they really didn't miss a beat. They produce juniors very well or through astute buying are able to pick up players who blend into their team with little effort.

Cameron Phelps and Trevor Thurling are talented juniors coming through among others and the acquisition of Chris Armit and Ben Czislowski will be used to cover the possible loss of Mason. They will also have covered for the possible loss of Anasta somewhere along the way as well - Marvin Karawana and Cameron Phelps the two most likely replacements.

If the events of the past didn't de-stabilise the club its unlikely a few players going will have too much effect either.

Its funny how all these players who played under Smith and were unwanted by Smith are going on to better things.

Anyway Why would Ryan come back...He captains the best team in World. Why would he come back to a team that can't even make the 8?

Why would someone who jumped on the bandwagon of another team still have so much interest in the team he flicked?

Michael Witt will have a great season next year again showing why Smith lets go the wrong players.

who are all these players?

Ryan and Tonga makes two.....the rest, pretty arguable whether they are doing better or not.

I met the bobcat & I must say he is a very good bloke. Good luck to him at the bulldogs. He deserves his success & will make a great captain. We have more than covered for his loss

Look it is like the ladies I drop, they are replaceable

he loved playing for us soo much that he cried at his last home game at parra.
all he wanted was a 2yr contract and smith refused to offer him more then one.
(for whatever reasons! don't jump down my throat im not smithybashing!)
Bobby wanted to play his career at parra but as he said to rowdy nikks and i "what of i hurt myself at the beginning of the year, im screwed, i need more then that.. for security"
i don't want to speak for bobby but i have always gotten the impression that he would never play at parra for as long as smith was here...
