As the title says.

Name any books that you've read that would be great on the screen, be it movie, tv show, series or mini-series etc

For mine, The Guns of Muschu by Don Dennis

True story set in WWII PNG. 8 Australian troops are sent in to locate some hidden Japanese heavy artillery on an island, capture a Japanese soldier and return to base within 48 hours.

only 1 soldier survived. The book is about him (written by his nephew, who served in Vietnam, so he's able to add some genuine authenticity to the story from personal experience as well and it truly works)

I would say none as the movies always ruin the book imo.

But for the sake of it, one that could be done well in the right hands might be marching powder.

Blood Vengeance by Matt Freke. Can hardly find a reference to it on google but it was my favourite book as a kid. A kiwi bloke living in Sydney goes back to NZ after a death in the family to find out his family are all part of a battle between good and evil from Maori mythology.

Recently read through the Witcher saga which the video games are based on.

Really enjoyed them, the story would work well as a Netflix series made similar to Game of Thrones.

Geralt and Ciri would absolutely own on screen.

I think there was a TV Show adapted from it but it failed.

The games are awesome though.

The dark Tower series. Doubt it will ever get off the ground it's just too big and hard to do.

Nothing could do justice to that series .

Each book was epic( the first was small & long before King had honed his writing skills ) but from book #2 on was classic S.King .

I still look for the "nineteen " reference in his stories .

Deadly Perfume by Gordon Thomas.

Here's a synopsis....

David Morton is a Mossad who begins tracking the movements of several Arabs after he intercepts calls about a trade of two million U.S dollars for an unknown item. After tracking their movements into the Chinese jungle he listens to the Arabs and their Chinese contacts and discovers that it is a high probability he is dealing with agents hired by a terrorist, Raza. After killing most of the Arabs and Chinese, but allowing several to escape, Morton discovers that the deal was most likely Raza purchasing a new, highly lethal form of Anthrax; Anthrax B.C. Now Morton must stop Raza from unleashing a terrorist attack which could kill millions and could be initiated anywhere in the world. But he in not able to stop the bombings of three London Hotels including the one where is parents are staying or the accidental release of the "Deadly Perfume" on an entire African village.

Written in 1991, it was quite a prophetic novel since the US anthrax attacks didn't occur until 2001. Great riveting read that would probably be thrashed by some two bit director.

Satori or The Winter of Frankie Machine ,both by Don Winslow .

Would make great movies .
Satori is an assassin story at the beginning of the Cold War .
Brilliantly written ,would make a great movie with the right people ..

Winter of Frankie Machine is about an ex Mafia man ,retired ,enjoying surfing , ,& the quiet life who gets dragged back into the underworld.

If you've never read Don Winslow ,you aere missing a great writer

But his best by far is The Power of the Dog
Would make a great mini series .
About a DEA agent & his 30 yr war on drugs .
It has everything. Corruption ,betrayal ,revenge. Double crossing .Violence ,lots of violence .Italian mafia ,Irish mafia,Mexican cartels ,etc .
Would be close to the best book I've ever read
Would be fantastic if adapted to the screen
