Perhaps Bennett would have had a very different mindset to what his job was if given the 5 years he asked for instead of restricted to 3 years.
A 3 year plan is a very different time frame to bring success, in comparison to a 5 year plan.
3 years means that you are leveraging external recruitment a lot more to achieve success quickly, a 5 year plan would mean he would have also been investing in junior talent a lot more....
He was given 3 years to achieve success and he did it instantly. The very first game of the season against Melbourne in his first year in charge, although we lost we instantly looked like a team that was physically hardened, more disciplined and lost the tag of having a soft underbelly...
