Maybe I am being overly optimistic, but don't be so sure.

The good thing about this, and yet another mark of Brian's character, is that he stepped aside while the season is still salvageable. It will take a mighty effort, to be sure, but it is still very much alive if we can begin to put it together. He could have clung on and pretended he was still enthusiastic, but to his great credit he has been man enough to say 'I'm not the man to do it, but it's there to be done'.
