Bomber is building a very strong young side that WILL be very competitive for a long time. But anybody that doesnt recognise the Panthers as a certainty this year is kidding themselves! They are so far above and beyond everyone else its ridiculous. Hopefully Bomber will have a very similar team in the very near future. Good luck to the Pennies and their supporters, they are too good at the moment.
Yep, great mix across the park. All coming together with 2016 vibes.

When they need to score, like the last play before halftime, they do. It‘a all there for the pennies to win if they want it.

Building is the appropriate word and I don’t know that he will see final construction.

No. 1 Priority - We need to find a much stronger fullback who is an asset in defence as well as attack. Just look at the tries a Tedesco or Tom T stop let alone score.

No. 2 Priority - A gun centre. Xerri was the plan but that plan has been blown out of the water. Dugan one year left on his contract and won’t get re signed.

No. 3 Priority - Our next apex Prop. Fifita on the way out and will always be remembered for that GF winning try.

No. 4 Priority - To find any forward who loves being physical in tackles. A Hetherington type without the lunacy or a Victor Radley type. Someone for other players to feed off.

No. 5 Priority - Some decent assistant coaches. We have the $ now so time to not shop at Aldi and start offering the dollars for a good one. Head coach.... Do we have one in Morris? Maybe....but I thinking maybe not. He was a cheap option when we were skint for cash. We could well be looking for another appointment sometime next year.

I can’t see any improvement under coach Morris, our defence is non existent our attack last night was shit and read perfectly by their defence....where in for some lean years. Thank you Barry Russell.

In Morris’ defence (pardon the pun) he’s probably the most under-resourced coach in the comp. And he’s got absolutely no room to move with the cap.

We have a decent bunch of youngsters coming through.

Maybe Morris should take a page out of Flanno’s book and get a few older head players in that can almost coach the younger guys on the side... salary cap is a problem though.

We get what we pay for in coaches I suppose.

We have the lowest paid coach and “Aldi special“ assistants.

we have the lowest paid coach with Aldi assistants, he’s been given a reduced cap and a bunch of his stars haven’t been able to play... plus he lost probably his best prospect to an unexpected doping ban.

all this and we’re still around the eight in what I would think is a rebuilding year of sorts.

That says to me that he’s actually probably good value and not too f**king bad.

Alternatively, we could have paid big money for someone and got Seibold results.

The sooner he realises the 12 year old at fullback isn’t a first grader the better. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but we need chad back ASAP. Moylan to fullback, or if he can’t handle it stick him on the bench in tracey’s role, put Dugan at the back, talakai in the centres and nikora back in the back row. Anything but Kennedy.

Well, Kennedy wasn’t Morris’ first choice.

Moylan isn’t moving anywhere near well enough to play fullback at the moment.

If you move Dugan back there you weaken the centres considerably, especially in defence- that was a huge problem when Goodwin was there a couple of weeks ago. I’d rather not go back to that.

Kennedy has work to do but he’s the best option right now, imo. Plus I’d rather use the time to let him learn on the job rather than putting someone like Goodwin in that has no value going forward.

Snookered which ever way we go for fullback unfortunately. I really wanted kennedy to succeed and whilst he has improved i don't think he'll be good enough long term. Look at dylan edwards, they're probably about the same size but he doesn't get ragdolled like kennedy does every tackle.

yeah I get all that. I’m not a fan of sticking Goodwin back in the centres, I’d rather give talaki a shot there and persist with him rather then persist with Kennedy at fullback. Besides the out the back link play, he has shown absolutely nothing to warrant his spot. Some of his attempts at tackling are embarrassing. I know he’s not the only one.

dugan isn’t the ideal fullback either and playing a full season there might not be great on his body, but I think he’s our best option for the remaining 5 games.

Few things for me - other than the obvious defensive issues;

Wade - he’s suffering a bit from the Chads. As a back row, his first and foremost job with ball in hand is to make some hard yards - the defence has to be expecting him to barge it forward in order for him to creat space. He’s not doing this, he’s not making any tough carries. Even when he does make a standard hit up, it’s waltzing up to the line and trying to step away from collision. I want to see his first few touches with head down, arse up and at full pace (unless it’s blatantly on to spread the ball). Like much of our team, we need more grunt and less fancy.... almost the complete opposite problem to what we’ve ever had before.

Trindall - I like him, he takes the line on. When all are fit, I genuinely believe we’d be at our best with Moylan at 1, SJ at 6, Trindall at 7.

Ramien and Ronnie - Love both of these guys (particularly Ronnie), but seriously, we’re seeing the same bullshit defensive mistakes week on week - where is the Development and coaching in this aspect of the game.

Panthers blew us apart with hard and fast drives down the guts, which in turn creates space for their halfbacks to
fore the ball to their weapons out wide with time, space and a retreating and depleted defensive line. The hard yards and winning collision are they key - we’re terrible at stopping this defensively, and don’t do it ourselves in attack.
