Some souths fans are comparing him to isaac luke! While he seemed good in his last few games, can he perform like that over a whole season? As a dogs fan maybe you can give insight at how he's only played 7 games Over his time at the dogs and why as a 24 year old he has only played 9 nrl games so far

There seems to be a dearth of quality halves coming through & no one seems to have backed any others to come on strong this year

Does anyone rate Nene MacDonald? In the travesty that is the Titans atm he may well be a shining light. Didn't catch him in any of his games last year and see he's a big unit...any potential for a breakout year?

I see Cody Walker is hoping to get some game time for the Bunnies. Storm let him go and he hadn't got a crack at 1st grade there.

Obviously some teams have more than one (you could name a few Dragons for instance) and others it's really hard to even pick one player (sorry Parra, I failed you) but that's my thought process.

Then I could see others picking players like Milford, RTS, Coote, Tedesco, Gagai etc. For mine those players already 'broke' out and were highly regarded among their peers, this just happened to be their best season is all.

Wicks is a good call IMO.

As would every Dragons fan!

Not sure if it's considered 'breakout' but I think Gareth Widdop will have a real coming of age this year. He is now an established player at Dragons, he will relish the on-field captaincy and with a revamped forward pack and a decent attacking coach he will go up a level.

Wasn't like he was stuck behind any world beaters during his two years with us.
Fien, Rein, King were all ahead of him and Garvey on a similar level.
He's gone on to show what he can deliver given an opportunity, albeit a pretty small one, at the dogs.
Hope he does well.
