I remember thinking about how wild this was for weeksOne of my favourite Brett Morris moments is this absolutely freakish defensive effort from last year:
To turn around on a dime and round up two players like that at his age was just unbelievable.
You still don't reckon all these injuries have anything to do with the new rules? They are stacking upI didn’t watch last nights game but when I saw Brett Morris had done an ACL i felt absolutely gutted...
Him and Josh were indeed Dragons juniors and played for the club I love... before both left at varying times... but many seasons ago.
Yet both, but particularity Brett, are still absolutely loved by all the dragons fans I know. And beyond dragons fans.... I don’t know anyone who has a bad word to say about either... (although maybe there are haters that I just haven’t heard about...).
And that’s a remarkable thing considering they’ve played for the Dragons, the Bulldogs, the Sharks and now the Roosters... 4 big-daddies of clubs that are despised by many fans of Rugby League.
For me, my most memorable and respected moment of these two guys wasn’t in a dragons jumper, it was in a blue one. Playing in the 100th State of Origin game where they both suffered horrible injuries but kept going - Josh a knee injury but chasing down Greg Inglis.... Brett a shoulder but staying on the field all game, and making one try saving “ball and all tackle” near the tryline....
Is Brett Morris the most likeable NRL player in the comp?
Further to that, is he the most likeable player in the NRL era?
I truly hope he can come back next year. I have never and will never support the roosters (as much as I respect them) but I will always go for Brett Morris...
Well he's no Justin Hodges.

Nope
Why are not all teams getting ACL injuries the past 2 seasons and roosters have 5 so far last 2 seasons ... could it be the way they are
Trained ?
Maybe we should investigate the roosters rather than just blame rules

What training style are you thinking is going to result in 5 ACLs in 12 months?
I think we had 1 from 2013 to 2019.
I'm all for an investigation into the roosters. For whatever reason.
I like the tin foil hat theory .
Here's an old article on knee injuries though:
https://www.theroar.com.au/2020/08/07/why-is-there-a-disturbing-knee-injury-trend-in-2020/
I don’t know, and that’s why we should investigate the one team that it is occurring too rather than blame the rules - could also be due to roosters playing high intensity and level for past decade that it’s catching up to the side .
The blame is being given to 6 again rule due to fatigue etc . But this is just 80 minutes of a whole week of contact and training (also it has only added an extra few minutes ) so wouldn’t training which they do for the remainder of the week impact upon injuries ( especially when we have heard previously from some teams that train at game day intensity )
Or maybe disrupted seasons due to Covid I’d the train .
There are many reasons , my point is just don’t go blindly blaming 6 again , it seems to be popular default position for many to blame the rules for everything - my team is crap , 6 again and refs at fault , injuries 6 again refs at fault , blowout scores 6 again and refs
The roar, that may as well be me . however I note on that article methods of preventing ACL had nothing to do with fatigue , so not sure how new rules can be blamed

What do you want, a peer-reviewed scientific study? Its all opinion - but it's logical.
Roy Masters and Phil Gould admit its a factor but go out of their way to blame it because its early days (and also probably as a bit of PR for the new rule) . But 2021 injury toll is continuing in the same vein.

But yeah the roosters might be loading their players too heavily.
that was last year's excuse. Surely they've adapted now
The law of averages. I saw a list (on NRL Physio perhaps) saying we'd had the most of any club in recent years but honestly I can't remember the last one. We certainly had a spate of them similar to what the Roosters are now around 2015-17, worse if anything. Tyrone May, Peter Hiku, Peter Wallace twice, Josh Mansour, Dean Whare, Sam McKendry 3 times, Elijah Taylor, probably others. What training style are you thinking is going to result in 5 ACLs in 12 months?
