The NRL should stand down Foran, DCE, both Stewarts, Watmough, Ballin, Tafua, Matai and Lyon for this weeks game to send a message to the rest of the comp.

A 0.79 he would have been under the limit in the UK, US and NZ. Just sayin.

In all seriousness, why does this matter?
He's not in the UK, US or NZ. He's in Australia, and therefor is bound by AUS law, not UK, US or NZ.

Ignoring the fact that the raiders play Manly this week and i'd dearly like to see as many Eagles out as possible to improve our chances for a win. This is low range, morning after DUI... let the police and courts settle it, no need for the NRL to busy themselves with this at all.

Of course it?s irrelevant, in the same way 99.99% of posts on this forum are. It was merely an observance on the BAC levels of various countries which Aus has close ties and similarities, and how it would not have been an offense there. "Just sayin" was a clue.

Manly NRL star Brett Stewart has been charged with drink-driving after failing a random breath test on Sydney's northern beaches.

Police say the 29-year-old Manly full-back was stopped on Pittwater Road at Warriewood around 10:00am on Monday.

He was breath tested and then taken to Mona Vale police station for further testing, where police say he returned a low-range reading of 0.079.

He has been released and is expected to front Manly Local court on May 7.

Stewart told The Daily Telegraph he was "disappointed" and "had no idea he was over the limit".

"I had a few drinks last night. I went home, went to bed and got up this morning," he said.

"I thought I was fine and headed off for some breakfast. I got pulled over and I blew low range.

"I'm really disappointed this has happened. I had no idea I was over the limit.

"There's no way I would have got behind the wheel if I thought there was a problem."

The Sea Eagles issued a statement on Monday afternoon confirming the incident and stating they would be making no further comment.

The Manly full-back was stood down in 2009 after being charged with the sexual assault of a 17-year-old. Stewart, who was the face of the NRL's campaign that season, was found not guilty.

Ouch. Double points as well (I presume they still do that down south).
Demerit points dont matter with a drink driving offence, you just straight up lose your license generally.

Of course it?s irrelevant, in the same way 99.99% of posts on this forum are. It was merely an observance on the BAC levels of various countries which Aus has close ties and similarities, and how it would not have been an offense there. "Just sayin" was a clue.

Meh. 0.05 is much better than 0.08. 0.08 is pretty drunk generally.

I do see how you could f**k up the next morning. The drunk effect is generally gone and you feel ok. Not really an excuse though, should still be paying attention to how much he drank/how long he has to wait before getting behind the wheel.

This makes me wonder why, as a professional athlete, you wouldnt have one of those breathalysers at home (or even on you) to help short circuit this sort of incident.

Regardless of the fact those products arnt absolutely accurate, it occurs to me that it most definitely would have helped in this particular scenario.

I hope he gets stood down for a couple weeks just to witness the immense hissy fit he and his fat brother would kick up
