Thanks MITS, great stuff.
The following is an article from Ozleague which is based on this interview
Smith won't poach Parra players Apr 27, 2006
Outgoing Parramatta Eels coach Brian Smith said last night that he won't be poaching any players from his current club to take with him to the Newcastle Knights for next season.
With Smith effectively swapping jobs with Newcastle coach Michael Hagan at the end of the season there had been speculation that the two coaches may sound out off contract players but Smith ruled that out.
"In a salary cap situation Newcastle are not going to have a lot of money to spend on other players other than the current lot they've got – which is fine by me because the current lot they've got is pretty damn good," Smith said on NRL on Fox.
"But would I like to be coaching a lot of the boys from Parramatta again? Absolutely. Because I enjoy coaching them and I know what their strengths and weaknesses are – it would be a mighty big start.
"But it's not real. It's not going to happen. I don't think there'll be anybody from Parramatta going to Newcastle, certainly next season. That makes it a clean break and everybody knows where we're at and the players all know that as well."
The Eels lost to the Knights in the opening round of the season and have been struggling in the first month and half but Smith believes that last Friday night's win against the Wests Tigers was a turning point.
Parramatta plays the Manly Sea Eagles on Sunday at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
