Brisbane3 - What is needed to make it a successful bid?

The above has been explained ad nauseam. There is a post explaining this only 5/6 replies above.

Furthermore you’re referencing something that was rushed (not properly thought through and only created as a last ditch attempt to beat out Dolphins). Perhaps you missed the last 6 months of revised bids pertaining to South Qld.

An anecdotal account is personal and would include somebody saying I live in a particular city and this how we view things. Factual is based on information like official statistical information & also cites direct sources like releases from bids outlining strategic areas.

You're take is anecdotal. Mine is factual.

East tigers have a bid page mentioning Logan & Ipswich online from 2023, after dolphins entered league. You're timeline is out.

fair enough bears, so am I rights to assume there’s brissy and there’s also greater brissy region howevwr outside having brissy in the same there’s no genuine correlation locally between ippy locals to logan locals to wynnum locals to say some bloke or shiela who live in stafford or something?

@Pippen94 do you live in brissy? Or surrounding areas?
We are skewing way off course from the original question that you asked but firstly you are correct there’s Brisbane as in the city and Greater Brisbane Area.

Secondly no correlation between the inner regions, all have their own identity and are mighty proud of it. To think otherwise shows a lack of understanding and it’s wiser to just own the fact you don’t live here than try to argue something you have no idea about outside what some website tells you.

As a junior playing for Souths we dreaded playing in Ipswich. From the drive, to the reception from the locals, to the grounds and facilities. To them we were just a mob from the big smoke and to us they were Ipswichian bumpkins. But I digress.

Bit like saying Penrith and Campbelltown aren’t part of Sydney ??

Penrith to Sydney cbd 68 kms
Ipswich ro Brisbane 43 kms
Thanks Google maps.

When you ask someone from Campbelltown where they live do they say Sydney?

This discussion has been done a thousand times and the reality is only pedantic pipsqueak and you give a f**k about it.

And yet East bid by themselves and Ipswich bid by themselves (well with Newtown) only 6 months ago. If anyone’s timeline is out, it’s yours.

but sydney isn’t brissy, again someone not from an area claiming they understand that area better than locals. absolutely wild, a few of you need to log off the internet and actually go out and about to get a real feel for things

This is why factual is better than anecdotal which can be biased & prone to forgetting details. Here's up to date page from easts tigers mentioning focus on Logan & Ipswich:

Other bids like western corridor & bombers have included Logan & Ipswich together because it makes no sense not to. Logan has a larger population & the southwest is becoming a continuous sprawl.

why did easts tigers have their own bid this year and ippy have a bid with Newtown if they were to be a united bid? was ippy part of two bids? that doesn’t make any sense

feels like your info is outdated maybe?

There was a time when Ipswich was outside of Brisbane. Penrith, Campbelltown & even Parramatta which was the second European settlement, were considered outside of Sydney in the past. Cities sprawl and grow.

Tigers can write whatever they want but tad hard to secure a region when that region has its own bid at the same time.

Or are the facts skewed here?

maybe tigers forgot to tell jets that they were taking their region for their bid

I think pippen is reaching here. i believe ippy to be part of jets bid, not tigers but hey his word of the day is anecdotal because he thinks it makes him look smart.

@Pippen94 are you actually from south qld or not? I think answering this goes along way to seeing if you actually know what you’re talking about or just relying on website rubbish

The idea of Brisbane Easts owning the Broncos (or at least having a sizable minority share) would IMO be a positive for the game - not only does it bring their resources & know-how to the table, but it also resolves the branding issue that's confounded the Brisbane Easts bid in the past, encourages the Broncos to skew their reach to Souths/Wynnum & Logan which Red&Black Bear mentions... AND clears the way for the 4th SE-Qld team to be Westward facing & Ipswich-based.

So basically you'd have:
South/East (Broncos)
North (Dolphins - maybe the odd game in Sunshine Coast until they reach size for their own NRL team - if they get to that stage)
West (Presumably Jets)
& Gold Coast (Titans)

I dont know enough about Qld cup teams..

Aside from Easts and Redcliffe, which clubs are financially strong?

Pretty sure north Sydney league club owns Burleigh bears leagues club

Don’t know if they own the qrl club too

There’s another one that owns their own ground not sure if it was Ipswich

Dolphins and easts are the two standouts

Wynnum Manly Leagues Club donate a lot of money to the football club.

Donkey was the one who first said it they should’ve merged the nswrl and brl in 1988 (maybe four brl clubs)

That would’ve been way better than having the broncos

Easts dolphins and two others

Norths Leagues owns Seagulls Leagues. They form the basis of Norths Collective.

Burleigh has nothing to do with Norths outside sharing the Bears club name and logo.

Ipswich Jets own their ground and facilities but as mentioned a page or so ago require money and resources to upgrade them accordingly.
